I guess that TV is a common thing to children nowadays, but how much TV do you allow your kids to watch ? No TV at all will not be right too as it's a form of entertainment and educational to children and they learn a lot from TV ( both good and bad ). But, allowing them to watch too much will also destroy them as well. So, for myself I usually allow my 3 year old daughter to watch TV for only about 45min o an hour a day only. That is the max. And usually it's only Barney I allow her to watch and I will limit the advertisement as well. So, how about you ? How much TV do you allow your kids to watch ?

My 15 month old daughter does not really watch much at all. She is usually running around the room playing with the television in the background. My 8 year old gets about 1-2 hours of television a night. Some nights he chooses the computer or his play station 2 instead of the television.

It's good for kids to play some games to help them better in problem solving but just not too much till they are addicted.

It's not good to encourage kids to watch too much TV. I know of some parents where the best way to keep their kids occupied is to let them watch TV all day long.

I have these tickets, like you get when there is a raffle or something..I have red and blue. The red is for 30 minutes and the blue is for an hour..My 5 y/o automatically gets a red ticket every morning. Then if he does something nice that I catch him at, I give him a red or blue, (depending on how good the deed was), and he uses those for not only watching TV, but playing videos games and computer time..It has worked really well..He isn't on all the time and if he wants to watch a long movie, like for example, a Disney movie, then he makes sure he is well behaved in order to get that blue ticket..(btw, the blue ticket is for an hour on video/computer time, when it comes to movies which can be up to 2 hours long, I will take just one blue ticket, because a blue ticket stands for movies where as the red one will be for a half hour show)

Now that the weather is getting nicer, my three year old watches about a half hour to an hour of TV a day. Maybe one show in the morning and then one again at night. Over the winter it was a little different. Especially when we were battling the colds flus that we were all passing around the house.
