the present statistical data shows t20 is going to override odi and test cricket. since the game is short and full of life, fans love it. now with emergence of ipl, it is becoming the talk of the town. previous history also supports the fact. first 5 day cricket is overrun by 60 overmatch and then by 50 and 40 overs.

I think there is a real threat to ODIs. I do not think there is much threat to test matches as the players hold it in high esteem. Also the fact that now the test matches are giving results, the audiences are also getting interested in the test matches. But ODIs have been steadily loosing their popularity to T20 as in 3 hours you can have all the fun of a full day match, so T20 does really threaten the ODIs. Cheers! Ram

well i don't think that the five day version was completely over ridden by the shorter format of the game, yes one day cricket became popular but test cricket too had its own follower and people did enjoy the longer version of the game, similarly Twenty twenty has become popular but in no way can it over ride he other two version of the games each has is own charms and thrills
