I notice people and most of my friends who migrated to the US color their hair blondes after few months. Why not maintain their black hair which looks very chic for me. Why not keep their own identity being an asian. Are americans really that influencial?

If it is a reaction to their cultural background, it is unfortuante because everyone should be proud of their background and culture and embrace it no matter what!

Yes maybe you are right. Or they are curious on how they would like if they color their hair. Thanks for responding.

Well I am neither Asian or American.....I am Canadian. But I think it probably has something to do with how common it is for anyone to dye thier hair in the USA or Canada that may be influenceing Asain girls to dye their hair. Everyone else does it, so they want to try it too.

Because they want to look like americans. It is as simple as that.

Yes i think America really is that influential! Whenever I see an Asian with blonde hair I've always just thought that they want to colour it differently because EVERYONE in Asia has black hair! Maybe they want to be more individual and look different for a change. However I do agree with you that their dark hair is beautiful. Especially when it's long and out. It looks very exotic and shiny.

Maybe its not the hair color but their attitude towards their racial background. One must understand a bit of history of these individuals to see why they prefer to look like "foreigner" rather than like "asians"...nevertheless this remains to be an enigma for many still.

Hi bluishrose! I guess, they feel that they look good on it. I guess, we all have different preferences and that is theirs. However, my hair is naturally light brown and when the sun shines on it, it looks golden. Anyway, I do wish I have black hair but when i tried to have it dyed black, my beautician said that it won't look good on me because it will sharpen my features. So, i stayed in my natural hair color which is light brown. Just my thoughts dear friend. Take care and have a nice day!

I think people like to be different. Such as black hair person prefers to have blond hair. On the contrary, a blond hair person may like dark hair. In my opinion, I think black hair is very suitable for Asians and no need to change it. I am proud of my own Asian characters. I love China

I am very glad you started this conversation. I'm caucasion so I felt it wasn't my place. But I think Asian hair is beautiful. I love black hair. It is so thick, straight and shiny. I taught a class with many Japanese students in it. They had changed their hair, two had bleached it blond and two had bleached it and then dyed it red. When they walked in the room, everyone didn't know what to say or think. They were very hard working and intelligent. They were a joy to have in my class. But I couldn't for the life of me figure out why they changed their hair and their clothes were really, really wild, too.
