Funny I keep saying this over and over. All of my friends are human which means they are all of the human race. Beyond that I have friends of from many different cultures and countries. Race is a man-made criteria to sort people into comfortable categories. There is no such thing as "race". There is only the Human Race. We are all inter-related. There is no White Race. There is no Black Race. There is no Asian Race. Nope none of those. We look different that is all. Because we did not have the ability to travel we stayed within our communities and continued to breed within specific communities thus keeping DNA lines somewhat consistent. But nonetheless we are all human. I have many friends. They are all human. I have friends who are West Indian, East Indian, American, African, European, and many cultures within these. I have Catholic friends, Muslim friends, and everthing in between. Thankfully I have been able to choose wisely.

I confess most of my friends are white because of the activities I am involved in. I do have some very dear friends in Haiti that I haven't gotten to see in a long time. (too long) and my future son-in-law is Hispanic. I don't have the opportunity to meet many people of other cultures and races.

I have never really counted how many people are different races and cultures...when i was in school i used to have tons but now that i am older and have 2 kids that take up most of my time i don't see much of any friends really... it is good to have friends from diverse backgrounds though - it really helps you be more open minded and understanding and realize that stereotypes are not usually true.

Funny that i came accross this topic, i have only 6 friends. I am personally from Afghanistan. The 6 friends i hang out with are of different races. 1. Afghan 2. Guyanese(spelling) 3. T & T 4. Saudia Rabia (spelling) 5. Indian 6. Sri Lankan I have never disliked them:)

Diversity is a wonderful thing. I think if you go around counting how many diverse friends you have, you lose the quality of what those relationships could entail for you. My daughter is my number one friend of another race, and 5 of my nieces and nephews come in shortly after her. Now on to others, I couldn't even tell you, because I don't count them. Nor do I ask them to share, cuz it really doesn't matter. It's what's underneath their skin that counts to me.
