World's worst drivers.

United States

Where are they? I nominate my town. Whenever I drive, I get the feeling that I'm either the only one who knows the rules- or the only one who doesn't. Here are some of the rules people in my town follow. 1. If someone is driving slow, follow as closely as possible. 2. Speed limits and stop signs are only suggestions. 3. Use of turn signals is frowned upon. 4. Wait until a car gets very close before pulling out in front of it. 5. Each and every driver has the right of way, at all times. 6. Never, Ever use headlights in foggy or rainy weather. 7. Always block side roads. 8. Wait at least 30 seconds before going when the light turns green. If you want to nominate your town or city for the world's worst drivers, you are welcome. Please tell us why they deserve this honorable title.

i proudly nominate the chinese drivers (no offense to any chinese or related to one, just basing it on my own experience) here are my reasons (i can go on and on but would rather not) 1. they dont follow any signs 2. they almost dont use turn signals 3. there is no such thing as stop and go signal 4. if they can see a space they will grab it without thinking somebody else's life 5. big cars are the monster in the road, if you happen to be a small one and they run to you intentionally (IT IS YOUR FAULT) 6. foreigners are always wrong when it comes to accidents 7. life is just a bug to them 8. they will run you over and wont even help you out 9. be very very careful crossing the road coz a car will just pop in 10. no such thing as left and right way 11. no such thing as one way 12. walking path (i dont know how to say it) sometimes dont exist specially if it is so traffic. 13. bikers should have 10 eyes (4 on the back 2 in each sides and 2 in front LOL) 14. no speed limit (none that i know of) i have never been to india but i heard one foreigners saying one time to me to wait till i visit india too LOL btw, if i offend anybody here it is not my intention, ok? takecare!

I hate to imagine that it is worse elsewhere. My town is bad enough.

I nominate Trinidad as having the world's worst drivers, the road hog is starring in my country (we are too small to consider towns). All those rules (or lack of) are in full force in my country but I can add two more. 1.Waiting in traffic is not done because the shoulder is used as another lane. This is frequented by the taxis who cannot afford to wait in traffic because they need to make as many trips as they can and they need to make the money at all costs (the taxis are not metered). 2. These taxis are also famous for stopping on busy roadways to let off their passengers, they stop here so that other taxis cannot pass them and pick up the other passengers before they can.

I hate seeing cars driving on the shoulder. Is it that bad to wait for a minute or two?

i will nominate my city of origin as well as the worst drivers... the drivers there never follow the traffic rules and worst enough, they don't care if the traffic light is green or red or yellow... they keep on going... that is so dangerous for the pedestrians like me and other drivers... when they want to change lane, they just change it straight away without using the indicator... so annoying... block the road by parking their cars in the spots where they are not supposed to park and causing massive traffic jams... and the list goes on and on...

LOL Sillychick too funny, but oddly sad and true at the same time. My town is DEFINATELY nominated. We live about an 2 hours from a major metropolitan city and our town is known as 'the gateway to the north' here in Ontario. Hubby says summer time, especially is the season for 'citiots', where half the city comes North and pushes their way around up here, showing off their poor driving skills, dumping their garbage on us and generally being arrogant. Of course in the winter, two thirds of this town are over 80 it seems and are just SLOW and always seem to be right in front of you!

The older drivers really scare me. They are about as safe on the road as drunk drivers.

http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1480531.aspx Second page for my response I don't have a town to nominate as many cities and towns have all aimed for failure. I'll cite both the midwest and the south as offenders though. Here are some of the rules I could come up with. There are some reuses but some new ones too. 1. Always drive with your cellphone in the 'attached to head' position. 2. If you can't find a cellphone, watch TV or eat while driving. 3. If someone is driving slow, follow as closely as possible 4. Speed limits are only suggestions 5. When faced with a speed limit, add 10, 15 or more MPH to your driving 6. All drivers have right of way superior to pedestrians and bikers 7. Driving is the hidden 11th commandment of the Old Testament 8. Always block side roads 9. Be sure to show your collision skills on the freeway 10. All lanes are yours to do with as you please 11. There is no harm in driving on the wrong side of traffic 12. No one wants high speed rail 13. No one wants light rail 14. No one wants buses 15. All driving and traffic problems will be solved by adding more lanes and building more roads (like last decade, and the decade before that..., yep, flawless solution -_-)

#15-- I'd like to get those geniuses in a room and give them a piece of my mind. More lanes= more opportunities for accidents.

I actually think they all live here with me. I know we are only a small town compared to other places but I reckon we have more than our fair share of worst drivers. These are some of the guidelines we have in here Roundabouts are actually a waiting zone rather than a means of increasing the flow of traffic. Lane changes are not to be indicated, they are a swift jerk of the wheel whenever the mood takes the driver. (multiple changes in a short space of time are encouraged) Only trucks and 4WD have right of way. Everyone else it's first in best dressed.

Ahh, yes, I forgot that one- right of way belongs to the biggest vehicles.

Oh and the list goes on and on LOL. Yep Toronto has so many bad drivers. I have a story for you. A month ago I was minding my own business just driving and all of a sudden someone cuts in front of me. Then he gets out of his car on a GREEN light! He walked over to one approaching car just to ask for directions!!! He was holding up EVERYONE, and remember the light for us was GREEN and he did this. By the time he got back into his car the light was red, sheesh. I was NOT happy to say the least.

I don't think there is one place with the worst drivers - every area are going to have reckless criminals who care nothing for courtesy, safety, or the law. Of course large populated areas will have the most in one spot. It is the reason I left my car in Florida when I moved back to California. I lived in the San Jose area before, and I remember how people drove then. Even as a pedestrian I see infractions when I'm out. The most outrageous was a pickup coming out of a parking lot into a street. She must have been distracted, because the truck was just slowly rolling out into the street. A car starting coming from the intersection, a considerable distance from where this is happening. He did not slow down or stop, and there were no vehicles behind him - he accelerated, blasted his horn and swerved behind the truck. Then there's pedestrians struck on crosswalks and even sidewalks. A significant number illegally crossing the street, but hitting one on the sidewalk is totally reckless. Unless you are experiencing a medical emergency of course -

Driving here in our country is crazy. "Right of way" is unheard of. There is no such thing as "courtesy". They will cut you off without so much as a turn signal. Jeepneys and buses stop whenever and wherever they want. As a result my blood pressure shoots up quite frequently!

World's worst drivers? Probably that blind guy that lost his hands in a bar fight with a grizzly bear...
