I've been trying to decide who my favorite poet is, and I can't narrow it down to one. I love Robert Frost, Carl Sandburg, e.e. cummings, W.B. Yeats, and Walt Whitman. Those are probably my top five. What poets do you like, if any?

I love Poe too! My father used to lull me to sleep when I was three or four by reciting The Raven to me. I requested it in place of fairy stories! One of my earliest memories is of laying with my head on his shoulder listening to him recite, "Ah distinctly I remember, It was in the bleak December.."

I like Wordsworth and I prefer I guess contemporary poets like our own Australian Banjo Paterson and Nan Witcomb whose books Thoughts of Nanushka have stirred my soul whenever I read them. Thoughts of Nanushka is her collection of poetry VolI - VI. For a sample of her work:http://users.senet.com.au/~nanushka/nan2.htm

I love the nature poems of Wordsworth .They are the easiest and his love for nature spills through. Whenever I see some marvel of nature , my spontaneous reaction would only be to think of him and his spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings. 'No wonder he was like that' would be my reaction. I love Keats for his imagery and description and the same is the case with Shelley. I love Milton for his characterisation and style and philosophy. Shakespeare, though a dramatist in the strict sense is according to me a poet and he gets my first vote .His profoundness of thought is something that has a timeless appeal to me.
