Does it bother you that few people seem to care about politics in general?

The numbers under MyLot categories are a glimpse into the public's collective interests and I see POLITICS has a number I find unbelievably small. I get frustrated about political disinterest and I wonder if anyone else feels this way. Do you ever feel that people do not care unless a particular issue arises that directly affects them? Any other fears regarding the general public's involement in politics?

I don't worry about people who are not interested in politics. That is their prerogative. I just hope they don't vote.

I have to agree with you. I really think that the general population should take a much more active interest in our government and politics. If they would have already done so, we might not be in the shape we are now. The government keeps trying to take more and more of our freedoms away and we simply sit back and let them... only really paying attention to politics when it really hits home.
