house blessings...

this morning we had a house blessing administer by a priest and i feel complete and atleast at peace now ..just curious if you had your new house blessed by some priests/pastor or whatever...and do you believe that by doing some rights such as this..makes bad elements(spirits) out of the new house? please share..

I absolutely believe it is efficacious to have a blessing done on the house - sort of an exorcism of the dwelling I guess. Did the priest chalk above the doorways with the initials of the 3 Magi, the date and a † ?

just using the holy water in blessing every room in our house including the garage and veranda..what it means in putting a chalk and writing initial and all??

besides the holy water and ritual words - blessed chalk is used to bless all the door ways (that lead outside) the house - I do not know off hand about the 3 magi and why their names are used... I used to know maybe it will come back to me again.

good for you..ever since i havent done any blessings in my house since until this time im still renting a house..i have heared also about when the house are blessed bad spirits will not live in there

yes I think it could make your home safe from bad elements if it was blessed. thats just my own opinion of course. I think those rites do work.

Yes I believe in this one, it may drive bad elements away and pave way to a peaceful living. We also had a house blessing when we first tranferred to our house. And I know almost all of my friends and relatives had their house blessed before moving in their new houses. I believe that with God's blessings you will live in the house safe and with His protection things will be in place.
