I really can't think of a discussion I want to start , or one to answer. My discussions often get 1 or 2 responses (or none at all) , and those that actually get 9 or more are from some weird inspired thought that just popped in my head. Does anyone have some requests or suggestions, Please?

I'd say you just solved your problem of what to discuss! I don't get many replies to my discussions, either. I think I'm just not on the same wavelength as most people. It's really funny to me that the discussion I started that got the most responses was one about a wrong number!

You know what it is? If the discussion isn't about something extremely controversial, it can be about nothing! I mean, this is a country where once upon a time the number one show was a show about nothing (Seinfeld). I really think that people don't really view this (myLot) too seriously here in the US, since it's for pennies a day.

I think you're right. People in the U.S. seem to look upon this as more of a money-maker than an interesting place to exchange ideas. The money is nice, but I love the discussions! I'll post just about anything that pops into my head that I think people will enjoy. If they reply, fine, but if not at least I've been able to set my thoughts down in print.

Hey, I just saw a link on the frugal living pages that you might be able to use: http://www.angelfoodministries.com/ You can get about $75 worth of really decent food for $30! I don't know how they do it--I used to work in a supermarket, when I could do that kind of thing, and the markup was really low so I don't know how these people can price it so cheap but I just thought I'd pass it on to you.

Talk about what you want to talk about, that's what the place is for. The only other thing I'd recommend is responding to others discussions and maybe they'll look at your profile (and hence discussions) from there. Naturally simple discussions typically get the most response, but if you start a discussion at the wrong time or if you are lacking in clout on mylot then your discussions will have minimal responses.

Aha...I'll have to start being simple! It seems that in person, I've been accused of talking 'above' people, just because I don't swear every other word, but then I've grown up since then! I'll have to think of some really simple discussions to start, since I'll never have enough clout on myLot! Thanks for the suggestion!

As thoughts come into your mind throughout the day, write them down to discuss here later. Pretend you're talking with friends on the phone or your family over the dinner table. What do you talk with them about? Do it here!

Right now I'm too busy packing up my household to even begin to think about having conversations! I understand what you mean...many of my friends are so involved with themselves and their lives, that any conversation I start ends up being about them! I'll work on it--wish me luck!
