Oh I remember when I was a child we would always catch lightning bugs at night. And even when my kids wher growing up they would go out doors and we would do the same thing. We would get a jar, put some holes in the lid, put some grass in the jar, and put thos lightning bugs in that jar. Then we would take them in to our bedrooms. We would watch them light up.They were really fasanating to me. Do you catch lightning bugs?

To be honest with you, I have never heard of lightening bugs, but they do sound pretty interesting. I am not sure whether my kids would like them or not, but I bet they would have a look at them!!

Well they are alot of fun, I posted a discussion on fireflys, that is another name for them. they come out at night. they are sort of hard to catch, because they do not flash all the time,

We loved to catch lighting bugs when we lived in Kansas. The kids would get a jar and chase them down. It was very interesting to watch them light up the jar. I now live in South Carolina and haven;'t seen one in the 10 years that I have lived here.
