shall we start a literary quiz? if you can answer my question you can ask the next one(with enough clues!!) and the person who can answer that can ask the next question. if no one answers within 48hrs or so the quiz master should produce the right answer. for a start..here is the first one: name the novel that begins like this- "every happy families are alike. but unhappy families are unhappy in their own way"

the answer to taface's question is "Still I Rise" by Maya Angelou. A great poem. Read it on PoemHunter.com. question: "Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!" Give me the name of the poet and the poem. (The poet was married to the author of "Frankenstein".)

i dont think my question is properly understood... those were clues to my question not choices. all you have to do is to identify the novel and the author.

the answer is film adaption Next question: What is the name of the literary work where a love triangle involves fairies and a donkey. And who wrote this lovely piece of work we still enjoy today. Oh and one more clue: if you ever have a chance to see this in a park...jump on it. It is fantastic. Good luck.

Anna Kerina and quite possible the worst book I have ever read - and yes I know it is a classic

Yep War and Peace is much much better and a classic that I actually think deserves the title of classic

any way we got the answer...that was the point. but can we actually decide which book is better? who is the judge? and what is the yard stick? my point is judgement of a book is possible only in the personal level.so it is better not to argue. there would be readers who whould argue that harry potter is greater than say crime and punishment! even that argument is valid. so its mrtimharry's turn to ask the next question. but if he fails ask the question within 48hrs(from the time answer was posted) anyone can ask question so that our quiz would go on..
