Or is "what is your favorite color" all you can handle?

I would love to hole a real conversation with some one anyone. The thing is alot of the mylot members are brainless and really can only handle the 1 word answers. For those who make the discussions intresting and try to keep it going, I say thank you, you are the people I want to have as friends and that I want to have conversations with. Kudos you the chatty members.

Wow, burn. There are intelligent discussions out there, I promise. And I think the new "guidelines" will make things a little less vapid.

I'd certainly like to think I'm intelligent enough to have a real conversation with you. Unfortunately, though, most people here only seem to want easy questions that can be answered with just a short answer and without doing any thinking. I try not to play the game, but it's hard to find topics to discuss that are really meaningful ones.

I think that there are many people here capable of having a real conversation and I know that I would rather do that than post one word answers. Unfortunatly most people are on here to make money and they think that they will make more money by answering 50 one words answer posts. I usually only try to reply to posts I find interesting.

Try a couple of mine on for size... http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/161199.aspx http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/177896.aspx I hope you find at least a little meat on them. As for the "stupid" questions, I don't mind them, either, as they tell me something about the people who answer as well as the person who has posted them.

I think I am- but those questions are easier to answer. Some people are here for the purpose of being paid.

I am more than smart enough to have a real conversation, and I'm quite eager for it too. In fact I started a similarly themed discussion as this about a week and a half ago. Bring it on, my friend! Check out my profile and discussions and let's talk!

Does your topic constitute a "real" conversation? What is "real" conversation, anyway? Isn't that subjective? Isn't just about everything subjective? Our persective indicates reality, and if our perspective is warped, we don't know what reality is. Is reality therefore sujective? Are our own individual realities the same as those of everyone else? If perception is the only basis for reality that we know, then it is subjective and cannot be the same as another person's. What, by the way, is your favourite colour? What is colour? You get the picture.

LOL, that is a good one but it is hard to have a real conversation on here because there has to be interaction back and forth not just an answer to a question. if you are surfing mylot you discover a ton of questions and once you answer one you move onto the next rarely looking back. i gaurantee that 99% of the people who answer this question will not look back at it again.

Yes, I know that I am intellegent enough for deeper discussions. I try to post discussions that are both. Just today, I posted a discussion involving global warming and the Kenyan Nobel Prize winner that is starting a campaign to plant 1 billion trees. I'll admit, I do post simpler topics to, for those that don't want to put time or thought into their replies. As for me, I prefer the in depth discussions, and would like to be able to get a discussion going and keep it going. I hope that more people will begin to post thoughtful discussions with "meat" to them. You can check out some of my discussions if you'd like.

I hope I'm smart enough to handle a conversation involving more than what my favorite color is! Yeah... I'm pretty sure I'm smart enough.

That's kind of what I was thinking in regards to another post. The person had asked if we liked Elephants. He/She typoed and I thought he was going to talk about the movie. That would be a great conversation, but instead I notice a lot (not all, though) post questions such as "whats ur fav colour" and "coke or pepsi?" I'll answer any question or talk about anything, though. I'm fairly open minded and enjoy intelligent and dumb conversation.
