I prefer the ocean. Love the sounds of the waves coming in and going out, the smell of the salty air, the serenity of it all.

Love the Ocean and it's beauty. Just to be able to sit there and watch the water and look for Whales, etc. is a pleasure especially in the sound. The sounds of the water is also quite relaxing as well.

Hubby would tell me of how close he lived to the ocean when living in Holland. I wish we lived close to the ocean now. I love to take walks on the beach.

I love them both. But, the ocean is a bit nicer, as it is calming and smells so fresh and salty.

I have only been to the ocean once in my life. We drove from PA to FL to visit some family and when we went to the beach a rouge wave came in and knocked my husband and I head over tin cups, and tried to pull my handy capped sister-in-law into the ocean wheel chair and all! So I would have to say I prefer a lake. The ocean was just too overwhelming to this ole land dweller! :)

I had only been to the ocean once when I was a teenager. I just watched Jaws. Yeah, like I was into the ocean after seeing that. I went again when I was 40 and found joy.

I like the ocean,I like to get up early in the morning barefoot, and take a nice long walk along the shore. The sound of the waves takes all the stress from me.

I also perfer the ocean. The sand is always great at the beach...as long as it isn't steaming hot and it doesn't go in your pants. I also love the smell and sound. It is just really peaceful/calming! The shells are great at the beach also! I love looking for shells at the beach!! :D So, I definatley would pick the ocean over the lake!! :)

I love both, but I prefer the Ocean. There is nothing like a very early morning walk on the beach, before anyone else is out. The sounds of the waves, the smells, the breeze... I love to just watch the ocean; it is truly one of God's most mystical creations. Just watch and imagine what is out there, beyond our view... Imagine what lives in the ocean, on the bottom of the ocean floor. It's amazing that the ocean is so beautiful yet has so much power and potential for harm.

Most definately the ocean. Only been twice- Amazing. I've been to numerous lakes.. they are great for day trips and boating or ski-doo's. But nothing beats the peacefullness of the ocean. Even at high tide and when the waves are crashing in. You feel like you are one with nature. To feel the wet sand or hot dry sand under your bare feet- to feel the waves take you out in the water farther and then back in to shore. The ocean is the best! I cannot wait to go back this Spring!

Same here. I agree with you. Even I like the sound ocean waves, they are very soothing. Lakes are also cool but not so soothing.

The ocean, love the sound and smell of it. I live close to a lake, it looks murky and smells fishy.

There is nothing like the sand and the sound of the waves hitting in, the lake can be calming but I much prefer the salt water and sun.

Well, I've grown up in the inner part of a very long fjord, so I prefer that. the ocean water is so salty, and lakes are muddy - the fjord is neither. :)
