Oh you can get the drivers from the internet as they are available at the site of HP so you will easily get those drivers.Evemn i am having the Compaq 6409 and i think the drivers are almost same except some of the drivers of graphics and wireless etc but most of the drivers are same for both of laptop your and mine so just search there at site of HP you will find all drivers very easily and enjoy. Have a nice day!!

Why did you downgrade to XP? Vista Rocks! Now for your question why did you not get the drivers for your system before you made the change? It would have been the wise thing to do. now that system is made by hp so I would try www.hp.com

For the drivers, if it doesnt install it automatically then you need find it here on the internet. I quite had the same problem before, what i did is look for drivers here, it was not that easy but i manage to find the drivers. Some manage to find it automatically.

I'd check the HP/compaq sites. I say hp as they bought compaq out in the last couple years. Otherwise id be checking driver guide for them. A program called unknown device identifier will help to decide what to download.

If it is already built-in to your computer then run the disk that was provided to you when you purchased the laptop or much better, search it on the internet. I am sure that you will be able to find it. Cheers!
