"Oh, my sleeping child, the world is so wild..but you build your own paradise"..so goes the lines from the song My Sleeping Child by Michael Learns to Rock. I find it engrossing to watch my children as they sleep. I envy the peace and contentment their faces convey. But then I would ask myself some questions like, what would their future be like? Would they go through the same experiences as I did? Would the world be a better place for them?I cannot help but worry over what they would become when they grow up. But then I always remind myself that I am only their care taker. I cannot hold them forever in my folds. The least that I could do is pave their way for a bright future, give them all the love that I could give..and for the meantime, always watch them sleep as long as I am able to. What about you? Do you also watch your babies while they are tucked in bed sleeping? What are thoughts that cross your mind? Please share.

I love watching my kids when they are sleeping..they look so innocent and sweet...with no cares in this world. I even catch them giggling in their sleep:) I wonder how they will be when they grow up...how they will look...what will they do...what will be their life's calling...etc..etc. But in our custom, we aren't supposed to watch a child sleeping. The belief is that a child will come down with fever. I don't know how that can happen...my kids have never had fever when I watched them sleep.

Really...I didn't know there is a custom like that in this world. THanks for sharing. But between the two of us, it's such a serene feeling to watch them sleep right? Happy Mother's Day to you!

Thank you so much for the Mother's Day greetings. I should tell you motherhood is a roller-coaster ride and so full of ambivalent feelings like wanting to let go and not wanting to let go. Sometimes I think I am crazy because I would wish for them not to grow up into adults anymore, for them to stay as kids forever. I know it's a selfish thought but I just could not get rid of the worries for them. But I'm done with that now.

Oh how I love to watch them as the sleep the night away. Just like you, I see them at peace with themselves with nothing to worry about. I just thank the Lord for giving me the opportunity to minister unto them. And I go on to pray and ask God to help me train them in the way they should go. And God would saved their souls and call them to serve Him.

Oh yes, Teach them the way they should go, for when they are old, they will not depart from it! I love to listen to Kid's praise with my two boys. Keep it up. God bless.

Sleeping Kid - Sleep my child, sleep.
I so love the sight of a sleeping child. He actually resembles an angel to my sight when he sleeps. I love to see him travelling the world of dreams while his eyes are closed from the noise of this world. If only a child could remain a child so that he is free from all the anxieties of this world. But they surely will have to grow and face this world one day soon.
