I know you mothers out there are wondering what i'm talking about and why i'm so upset. I'm just plain tired of this happening all the time, its making me crazy. My son like any other child is allergic to certain things, and though some may have slightly annoying allergies my son's are more frightning. My son is allergic to bug bites, and not just the itchy fussy annoying bug bite allergy. He goes into anaphaylactic (I think I spelled that right) shock when he gets bit by bugs above his stomach. I've taken him to the emergency room three times since he was two because he breaks into a rash and then has trouble breathing. I have been given three sets of epi-pens for his reactions to help slow it as to get him to the hospital in time, and have been lucky enough to always live really close to the hospital. I'm completely and utterly frightend now because his most recent attack was when we were all sleeping, and I wouldn't have known about it if my roomate hadn't woken to him faintly crying. I was so scared that he could have passed in his sleep, because I didn't hear him. I have been sleeping in his room since it happened on tuesday, and i'm so scared I won't be able to save him next time. Are there any other mothers out here that understand what i'm going through? Do any of you have any tips that might ease my troubled mind, and heart? I'm so worried about my little boy, and I just don't have any ideas left. Thank you for your input.

i sympathize with you. my son was born club footed... had him operated... but learned that he is also lordotic and charcot-marie tooth... his leg muscles aren't growing big... he might not be able to walk when he grew bigger... well, you can check several sites regarding this... and pray...

I can relate, it must be hard. I wish the best fo you and your son, I really do. I guess that makes me lucky to have such a minute problem compared to yours.

The only thing I can suggest is to either put him in your room near your bed for the time being or if you need to sleep in your room and him in his maybe a baby monitor turned up loudly and placed close to your bed. Sadly, there are some children that have special problems like this. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I know he isnt a baby but what about a baby moniter place it in his room and the listening part where ever you are turn it right up loud if you have to this way you will always hear if he is crying? Not the same but when my daughter was born she wasnt breathing and spent time in NICU when we finally came home, a few days after that I woke one night to her not breathing right again it terrified me that if I hadnt of woken she might have stopped all together, being a mother is scary enough but it must be really hard for you.
