Overcoming writer's block ...any suggestions?

Recently I have been having trouble getting into a writing mood. I have a few text-based roleplaying threads that are languishing because I feel uninspired to write. My co-writers are getting impatient and I'm struggling with ideas. Have any of you have experienced writer's block syndrome? How do you go back to the writing flow? Any ideas, anyone?

Im very sure the mood that you are in affects the way the brain works!im no writer by any means but there are certain days that Mylot or anything else doesnt relly hold a lot of interest for me,and then there are days that im brimming with ides lol but Im sure there are times when we all need a rest from tapping away and that you arent any different!

I usually do a flow chart of free thought. I think they still teach it in schools. I just start writing topics as I think of them without any censorship on my part. Just write every word or phrase that comes to mind. Some of the topics will relate, some will be completely random. Then take a look at your list and see if it is anything that you can write about. If so, then awesome, if not then give it a few minutes, go do something else for a while and then come back to the free thought. This is the only thing that helps me, so hopefully it will work for you as well. Good luck!

Put some nice relaxing music on and instead of worrying about you not being able to write relax. Open a word document and just write any words down that come into your head. Let it flow and don't worry about what you are writing. Keep writing and writing when you have finnished give it a few minutes you will probably be amazed at what you have written and can then put it into some sort of order and sense. Hope this helps you.

I know how you feel - I've been in a writer's block for nearly a year now. I couldn't even participate in the previous NaNoWriMo. First it started off because of stress at work and then it just snowballed into something else altogether...It's funny as well because I blog, and regularly too. Right now, I have some ideas for short stories and such but I'd really like to go back to novel writing. I don't know if this works for you but usually, I just go out to somewhere quiet with a notepad/laptop and write the first thing that comes into my mind and let it snowball from there. The first few lines/ideas are usually crappy ones but after a while, I can feel the "juices" flowing again! My problem right is finding enough juice for a novel and not a short story. :P
