I don't normally mind Monday's. For the most part they are just another day in the week. Working retail means having to work weekends, so Monday is usually my Wednesday. Not today though. Even though I worked the weekend, today is already a Monday to be reckoned with. My boyfriend is returning to work after a month off, so he's in the bedroom making all kinds of noise at hours that shouldn't be allowed. I forgot to put my son's uniform in the dryer, so he is now going to be late for school. Not that it bothers him any. As for me, I have to go to work at noon until 9p and I know full well that today is going to be the day from H@LL, because we have new stock to put away thats been sitting there, markdowns and returns from Mother's Day. Not fun. Oh not to mention, that I am tired from the hours I worked over the weekend. Grrr........So is Monday something you look forward to, hate to see coming or could care less about?

I know exactly what you mean, when I worked tin the call center monday was the hardest day, there was more work on a monday than any other day I you started your week so tired. Most people called of sick on monday and we worked on a point system, we could only accumulated so many points per month before we were suspended, if calling in sick on any other day was 2 points, on monday it was 5.

yea it cut down on a lot of absenteeism so the people that were off on Monday probably really were sick.

Thats a very interesting way of doing things. I don't think I've ever heard of that before. Did it work?

i usually also dislike monday because it is the beginning of the week and i have to work again til friday... i also work in retails... but i am fortunate enough to be able to have weekends off because my managers are so kind to me... so i only work from monday to friday full-time and have weekends off... when it comes to monday, it is not a day that i really looking forward to... but i still treat it as an ordinary day as any other day and grateful to God that i still have a job... so sorry to hear that you are having such a bad monday... hope your day will get better and God Bless you...

You are very lucky to have weekends off working in retail. Most companies or stores consider that a job expectation as its their busiest time of the week

My husband and son missed work and school today. We had such a busy weekend we got home very late and we all slept in and didn't hear our alarm. Tsk Tsk. I did absolutely nothing today except watch tv, sleep and play online. I was suppose to work Friday and Saturday, but an unexpected cousin from Samoa arrived and spent the weekend with us. I forgot to call work on Saturday morning and thought they wouldn't call me in anymore LOL but I got a call today to come into work on Saturday ... phew.

Sounds like your Monday was more typically a Monday than mine. As it turned out, it was quite a nice day at work. I dreaded going in and once again "thought" about calling in, but what I think and what I do are usually two different things.

Aww K it hasn't been a good start to the day for you has it? I do hope the rest of the day is a lot better than you are expecting! Cos I don't work anymore it doesn't make much difference apart from the fact that we usually get to have a long lie at the weekend, oh yeah and that once the kids go off to school during week I get to enjoy the peace and quiet for a few hours! xxx

I realize its pretty much all in the mind. If I had more of a positive attitude today it wouldn't look so bad. LOL. I just don't have alot of motivation, I suppose.

hi kbourgerie I used to dread some mondays when I worked in the library as we would have triple the amount of books returned than usual . The large book cart that was under the book drop would be pulled out and the pile of books returned would at times be almost waist high and there were never more than one or two of us pages to empty this and put the books on carts, marking each with the date, and we had to do this plus a number of othe chores in just one hour.we almost needed roller skates. lol

every monday, i always get upset. every monday is the beginning of a long week for me. i have to get up at 5 in the morning on weekdays, and after two days of sleeping until 11, i really dont feel like getting up that early. that is the only problem i have with mondays, the fact that it is the first day of the week. i get used to the week once wednesday rolls around and by friday, i'd do anything for the day to end. after that it is a nice relaxing weekend, but then monday shows its ugly face again. its a cicle, but we have to learn to live with it my friend.

Its not that I normally have Monday off, its just that Monday is usually the middle of my week. But you know what, I was sitting here thinking about it and then I realized once everyone was gone that I had the house to myself. Its been ages. The silence is deafening and I love it. Shame on me. LOL.

I do have weekends off, but normally Mondays aren't that bad. Tues, Weds and Thurs I also go to my mom's as well as my job and Weds is the best/worst day. I only work 3 1/2 hours, but I also spend about that long or longer with my mom and sometimes run late getting back to the job. Because its my short day at work, I also have to do quite a bit to get everything done. And then if there are extras....

I have to work every single Monday whether it is a bank holiday or not so as it is the beginning of my week I also don't look forward to it and also the rushing around on Sunday to make sure my uniform is washed and ironed ready. Ellie :D

I hate Mondays, Mondays should be banned, but then if that happened Tuesday would just become the new Monday. So it would not work really, may as well just get on with it. Monday is just such a busy day for me, and everything seems to happen on this day, school run, shopping, housework, school run, kids wanting to spend their pocket money, homework, tea, bed etc. Monday just seems endless compared to the rest of the week!!

Good point about Tuesday's becoming Mondays. I guess it all has to start somewhere. LOL.
