Ever lost something even though you were pretty sure you knew where you put it?

At the moment I have a Mr Bean DVD and a old video tape of baby clips of me having had disappear off the face of the earth. It's like, I swear I put the video tape in the draw of my mums wardrobe but she swears she hasn't moved it!
I've searched the house up and down but haven't found it anywhere!
I really hate it when it happens.
Though, I remember when I was a kid that a blue smurf toy I had disappeared randomly. I must have found it about 6 years later - only because we moved house and everything got moved.

It has happened to me a hell lot of times and even now when I pay special attention about where I put my stuff it keeps happening to me. My mother would sometimes say "if a particular object has been placed somewhere by me and I say I remember where I put it, then that one is surely lost, and if I can't remember where I have kept it then someone has a chance to come across it sooner or later".

you will have put it somewhere "safe" but because u never put things here when u come 2 look for it at a later point you can't remember where the safe place is but you will come accross it when ur not expecting this happens to me all the time

I have several things....two which were precious peices of jewelry I put in a "safe place" and have not found them back! It drives me bonkers trying to remember where I could have put them other then the place I thought was the safest! LOL....someday I hope to find them!
