What is the first thought you have of a guy if he wears the color "pink" or nail polish. I mostly think they might be gay.

No, No. I am hearing this for the first time.Do you know that in some cultures men too apply nail polish during their marriage ceremonies. It may not exactly be in pink but dark pink or maroon. They also apply mehandi ( a paste made from green 'mehendi' leaves) on hands and feet.Of course this is a very rare dressing followed once in a life time.

Yeah i understand that it can also be a cultural thing and stuff. But some guys just over do it. I saw a guy in a pink suit. What do you think about that?

This is the first time I have heard that one.The groom wearing nail polish for a marriage ceremony.I have heard about other rituals for different countries or religions. And about pink suits, that is quite a coincidence because that's what I was going to say.I have seen men in pink suites, black shirt, belt and shoes. With a gold or pink tie tack and matching cuff links. And each one that I saw looked good. They were not wearing the same ole' black, dark brown or dark blue suits. But,I have also seen men that are apparently not willing to go that far and wear a pink shirt with a black suit and shoes. And they would wear gold accesories.Sometimes there are business type men that wear clear nail polish to help prevent their nails from chipping and causing problems like snagging clothes and scratching someone when they shake their hand. That doesn't make me think they are gay.

I have a pink shirt. It is a long sleeve, button-up, dress shirt. I wear it with either blue, brown, or black slacks and a tie. I have a blue sports coat that I wear with it when I wear the brown or the blue slacks. I wear it all the time. I won't wear anything that is like HOT pink or something like that, but the light pink dress shirt I have looks nice. I have gotten many compliments in it.

I liked how you ended with saying your not gay. Am not saying that every guy that wears pink is gay. Some guy look dam good in pink, which am sure you do. But my bf won't wear the color, he thinks it's gay. In every country it's different.

It was quite trendy here a few years ago for guys to wear pink shirts, it might still be, I'm not sure (I'm a bit out of touch at the moment!) So lots of straight guys where I worked were wearing them. Even without this trend, I've never assumed that someone is gay just because they're wearing wear pink, they might just be an expressive person and like colour. Mens' clothes can be a bit boring after all, with the usual blues, blacks, greys and browns, so it is refreshing to add a bit of colour sometimes. Some men who wear nail polish might be gay, but I know that a lot of goths and emos (and probably some other groups that I've never even heard of!) also wear nail polish as part of their look.

When I was a young man, any man wearing pink or another outlandish color was considered gay right off the bat. Nowadays, I don't think it matters. Personally I like pink, shirts and pants. I also tend to wear flowery shirts that people always seem to do a double-take over. It's fun confusing people that way LOL Oh, and for the record, I am straight :)

You do have a point these days you don't know what to think when you see people wearing all kinds of things. just last year pink was an in color for men clothing. And now pencil pants is in for men also. Close fitted.

Close fitted will be a nice change from the baggy pants/shorts worn down around the knees, showing off their idiotic boxer shorts. LOL

When a guy wears pink, I don't automatically assume he is gay. Maybe the color just looks good on him and he is comfortable enough with his sexuality that it doesn't matter. The nail polish? Well, I guess it would all depend on the polish...lol.

I'm used to a lot of guys wearing nail polish and/or pink clothing, so I don't really respond to it anymore. Most of these guys are heterosexual. In the cybergothic scene it's normal for guys to wear these types of clothing. If I do think something about it than it would be about if I like the colour on that specific person.

Pink shirt is OK (not a T-shirt, though!), even my BF has one pale pink shirt. When he's wearing it with gray suit... not bad. And he definitely IS NOT gay LOL! But nail polish on a guy? Absolutely disgusting!

Why do you think that? Not that its any of my biz of course...you're free to think what you like I was just curious.. My son on occasion paints his nails (black or blood red) and I have several musician friends and some goth friends who wear make up and paint their nails etc etc and I think that a guy who wears pink is just a guy who wears pink *shrugs* no biggie to me

In my country people are very religious. In most homes this is not accepted, in other part of my country you can get scorned or beat down for this. I believe that a persons life style is there business. weather gay or not.

If you see a woman without make up in a blue shirt do you assume she's a lesbian? No, I'm not personally attacking you, I'm just trying to point out the double standard. It used to be that women were not allowed to do anything that was considered masculine. Now many of those things are perfectly acceptable among women. We have the opposite dilema now...men are not alloweed to be one little bit feminine (based on stereotypical feminine qualities). Why is that? When did this so called femininity become associated with deviant behavior (not saying homosexuality is deviant because it's not but in general the people who make assumptions about a person's sexuality based on trivial things are also the ones who do consider it a deviant behavior) It is a very interesting situation. I do not try to guess any one's sexuality...male or female...based on anything but their own words. It's none of my business unless they choose to tell me.

I agree with both of you. But in some society these days that just how it is. For some reason they don't really look at a woman funny, it always the men, that sad but reality.

I think it would be silly to assume that a man that wears pink or nail polish is gay. I paint my husband's toenails black. He has also worn green and blue. Nail polish is not a determining factor in someone's sexuality, neither is the color shirt they wear.

I like men who wears lighter colored t-shirts. They look neat even if they have dark skin. I don't think right away that they're gay or whatever, it's out of the basis. My finger paints his nails with colorless nailpolish. I'm the one takes care his fingernails whenever I'm home. He's a lay minister so his nails have to be clean you know..
