I went to a christian camp with my mom in last summer, we are not christian but have heard alot about that camp and know someone that goes there so we decided to go and see how it actually is. We got seperated in different group because of ages, there are like junior, youth, adult.. My mom is buddhism and told me that she feel offended by one of her group member, because in group discussion have a man said "all other religion is evil". I feel so bad when my mom told me that, like... I am not in any religion myself, but I respect the one you choose and when someone in the camp say that they will pray for me . I say thank you, although I dont belive in it. Dont understand how some can be so rude... "this topic is my own opinion, and sorry if I offended anyone here" ^^

To mingle and spend time with those of other religions, it is important that you focus on understanding the beliefs of the other religions and do not be quick to get offended. Why should you expect the beliefs of others to be just like yours? I know that there are religions that would label me an infidel and because of that say I deserve to die. If I talk to someone of that religion I just need to accept that as part of their position. Ultimately, a discussion of religion should be focused on trying to understand God. We cannot stall out on the horizontal plain of my feelings, your feelings and how we feel about each other. These are just some quick thoughts. We should also be slow to stereotype or judge an entire religious group because of one or a few experiences. Wishing you the best, djbtol

I think you have hit on an important point here. It is important to understand the other guys side of the argument and the context of what he or she is saying. It's easy to get offended by coments that are seemingly offensive but we should also remember that there are things about us that might offend other people. Always best to make the first step in understanding people and you'll find ways to making new friends. For me, I've had the privillege of having to study religions and to meet people from other faiths. I was raised Budhist but studied Christian Theology as a student. Since I've started work, I've found some of my best customers to be Wahabi Muslims and Jains. So, there you have it, you find good and bad in all religions. Personally, don't get too offended by people who are busy condeming other religions. Look at the guys in the Middle East talking about the need for Jihad against the individual - they're not doing the fighting. Do you see Osama putting on explosives to fight the individual in the name of Allah? Likewise on the Christian side. The guys who are too busy trying to save your soul are often too busy thinking about the 10% of your gross income to actually do anything Christian like helping the poor - look Messers Hagee and and Falwel as an example.

Hi 5mayday, I am very sorry for the bad experience you had at the Christian camp. Be assured that all Christians don't feel that way. Many respect all religious views, and to say that a belief different from one's own is evil is both unfair and untrue. There are many paths and we should all respect each other. Blessings.

I try my best to respect other religions, and when someone OF another religion offends me I chalk it up to that person, and not the whole entire church. People of my own religion have oended me enough times, that doesn't me I'm going to turn my back on the church...

Respect means to hold something in high esteem, to treat it with great regard. I can not say that I hold other religions in high esteem as I do believe they are false. That is not to say I shouldn't treat peoples of other religions with dignity. I am to treat all people with charity and dignity regardless of their beliefs or lack there of, but I do not feel it is necessary to hold all religions in high esteem as that would be hypocrite of me. If I felt all were equal than there is no reason for any belief at all and there would be no absolute truth... that just does not make any sense to me.

I know people who have different religion from me, in my opinion no matter what religion you belong it doesn't matter as long as you were good to each other. We have to respect what other believe to gain respect also from what we believe. Religion is a never ending discussion. And I don't understand why we have to argue or debate about it. It's what we believed and were did not gain anything if we continue arguing what is right and wrong. It's how we live our life and we don't have to be hypocrite by showing others that we are a religious person. It is what inside our heart not in what we want to portray to gain popularity to other people because no matter how we tried to hide who really us it will show/ reveal by what we do/live to our life it's what we find our faith and grow our relationship with God.

Ya know, its things like that that give ppl such a distaste for certain religions which is a real shame since its NOT the religion itself that sucks but rather some of the followers ... I am all for respecting other ppls religions (I'm Pagan Buddist) BUT that doesnt mean that I respect ALL followers of any given religion (for lack of a btter way to word it)..I really wish that the masses would realize that ALL religions and spiritual paths are valid and NONE of them are evil..I think that if ppl took on that mindset we wouldnt have a good 1/2 of the issues we have in society

Im not religious myself but do respect that people have their believes, however i am not comfortable with people trying to impose theirs on em,For example we have a devout christian living in our shared house and he is constantly talking about his religion and asking why i dont believe etc and i told him off for trying to tell my daughter about stuff like that as id like her to be able to choose what she believes in when she gets older

I do try 2 respect all religions, and i really dont bother any1 or insulting them in any way due to their religions. And i sure do respect every1, every human, so what they belive is personally upto them. I do agree the comment made by that man is offending, and there should be tolerance towards each others religion. But you know, there r sects who consider themselves holy and all others are lesser humans, coz they dont belong to their paths, well people do dffer and so do their thinking, but as long as u r good to ur own heart, just dont care what others think...

a religion is a set of beliefs an practices, codified as prayer, ritual and religious law. actually it is an abstract set of ideas, values, or experiences developed as part of culture well any one tries to follow a religion just to have happiness which is possessed in its depth. each religion has got its own respect and its own necessity for origin hence it just a way given for us to be happy actually this is what to be followed in this globalising world

well speaking of other religions as evil is not right...every1 has his own sense of beliefs and it not necessarly it be related to religion...the christian guy must behave and if he really reads the bible should know that Jesus himself didnt want any1 to hurt others nor did he say other religions are evil...i am a christian too; but i never tend to offend ppl of other religions(i stay in India..probably the most multi-religious nation)
