Tomorrow at 1:00pm my son will officially be graduating from preschool. He'll be off to kindergarten in the fall! (which means 5 kids in school all at once!) The ceremony will be at the church (it's a Christian preschool) and will include the morning class and the afternoon class. This will be the 7th preschool graduation I've gone to there. It's also so cute and sweet. They have the little caps for all the kids and they march down the aisle to the traditional graduation march. Of course the whole thing can also be a bit daunting to some kids LOL...my oldest daughter sobbed the whole time for her second one, my oldest son refused to take his coat off for one of his, his first one he wouldn't sing the songs or even stand up with the other kids during the songs. It was kind of adorable. So...7 years of preschool down (6 years straight then a two year break before this past year), 2 more years to go! (I'll skip next year, go a year, skip the next year, and return for one year with my youngest). So just to make this sort of a discussion, tell me about your preschool experiences and your graduation stories!

Looking forward to the pictures..Too bad you can't post more than one picture in discussions, but if they allowed that, maybe people would abuse it and just post pictures...

Well, me personally, didn't go to either preschool or kindergarten, as for my children, their mom was their preschool, she worked with them every day and their grandmother did as well. They started in kindergarten and not preschool.

I work with my children everyday also. I live in a rural area without young neighbors so I wanted them to also have socialization with other children their own age before starting kindergarten. The children from this particular preschool, since their very first year, have performed higher on the kindergarten readiness tests than the children from other preschools and the ones who did not attend a preschool.

Congratulations for your son! My son is graduating Kindergarten this year, so I know how you feel. They sing this song called "I am the World's Greatest" - and I know I am going to start bawling just like I did last year when my older son graduated!

I never went to preschool. I went straight to kindergarten. My son only went to preschool for 5 months. He did graduate though. His gown was way too big for him and he did not sit still the whole time. It was a middle of the week and middle of the day graduation.

I went straight to kindergarten too. Having it in the middle of a weekday must have made it hard for some parents to attend. Granted weekends aren't easy either, I know several families already had vacations planned for this weekend.

I remember the look on my son's face when he graduated kindergarten, I can still see it in my mind.. Of course having a few pictures of the ceremony in the picture album doesn't hurt matters any.. He was walking down the aisle with a white w/blue stripes long sleeved shirt on and he was grinning ear to ear.. He had on dark slacks that matched the shirt and his graduation cap.. He was so very proud of himself, but I was even more proud of him.. He was absolutely adorable.. Have a great evening..

I put my son is headstart which is pre-preschool. And cried my eyes out the day he started. I went as far as trying to get on the bus to take him back home. The driver thought it was funny lol but it was the end of the world to me. I kept yelling at him that he just was not ready. He laughed and said that it looks like I was the one not ready and I needed to let go lol. :D

Aww...that sounds horrible for you! LOL It is hard to let them go though when they are so little. I'm sure the bus driver had dealt with other moms just like you!
