How do you organize you cd/dvd collections?

No, I can't keep them organized. I would like to.. but they get taken out and don't get put back. They are strewn all over the place. It does get a little irritating sometimes. Kind of like how I'm always looking for the remote. I would suppose this issue is related to the idea of teaching a child to clean their bedroom. A little bit of effort on a consistent basis makes light of the workload, I think.

I have tried the alphabetical order thing but with everyone always looking at them taking them out and putting them back wrong I gave up and just started putting the most watched and favorites on top. But still they get messed up since the kids are always going through them wanting to borrow them.

I like to have mine in general categories but that's about as organized as they get.

I collect a lot of anime (japanese animation) and I use to arrange them by series. All of the completed series would go into one section, movies into another and the boxsets go together. I'm not too picky nowadays, there's just too many to keep track of.
