My grandmother said once, that if a person has a gap in their mouth, then they are known to lie a lot.. The kind of gap that I am talking about, is the gap between a person's two front teeth..

Hi cream97! I don't think that is true at all. It is like judging other people by the way they look or appear and that is not right for us to do. Because I have known some people with no gap but lied so well and there are those who don't have teeth at all but do lie too. haha.. Take Care and God Bless! Happy Mylotting!

cream, I have always heard this saying too. and I wonhered where it really came from. I have really never seen a lot of people with this gap between there two front teeth. And the people I have met that were the biggest liers did not have a gap between there two front teeth..

What I was told is if a person had a gap in their two front teeth they were good singers, if that is true or not I dont know but liar I dont think so my friend has a gap in her two front teeth and I dont think I have ever heard her tell a lie, and I have never heard her sing so I dont know if she is good or not .

Do you mean between two teeth? I have a gap between my two teeth. I lie to the normal extinct but not constantly. I dont really think that saying would be very true in my case then.

I think it means they have excess room in their mouth, and the teeth are spread. I don't think a physical trait can create a personality trait. Perhaps your grandmother knew a person or two with a gap and they were both liars, but I don't think everyone with gab teeth are.

Hummmmm, I have heard many old sayings, but this is one I haven't heard of. I have heard it said of someone that they are lying through their teeth. I wonder if we are thinking about two versions of the same saying?

My mother has a gap in her mouth. And I know she does all she can not to tell a lie. I think back in the day, Your grandmother was told this as a child and you know they have more saying where that came from.
