I’ve seen some really nice cars and their usually really expensive. You would think that when ppl spend so much on their cars that they’d take really good care of them. I’m not just talking about regular maintenance but also keeping them clean. I’ve opened the door on a car and had bottles, trash, clothes, toys, you name it fall out on the pavement b/c the driver has so much stuff in their cars. Fast food cups, containers, bags, chip bags, old french fries and spoiled bottles of milk are a few other examples. Why would anyone pay so much for something and then trash it out. Although I don’t drive, I’m forever trying to clean up other ppl’s cars (mostly family members when I go with them) but it seems like they just junk it up again. So I figure what’s the point. The only car I know that is ALWAYS kept clean is my Grandma’s PT Cruiser…and that’s only b/c she’s a fanatic about it and would string anyone up that messed up her car. Do you keep your car clean or trash it out? Why would anyone spend so much money on a car and then leave it dirty all the time? Do you ever find yourself cleaning up other ppl’s cars when you’re riding with them? **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

Back when I was still driving, I always tried to keep my vehicles cleaned out. The was a female I dated for a while who used my car quite a bit and it never failed that when she brought it back it was full of trash. That really ticked me off, and showed how women could be real slobs when they wanted... another win for equal rights ... I have ridden with people whose car looked a lot like a trash dumpster, and I have ridden in cars that were so clean that they looked new. I prefer the slightly lived in look... not all trashed uop, but not sparkling clean either.

Yes, I do. But I will not name names, because they are my family and come here. I am a fanatic about mine being clean, inside and out. When anyone is in my car they need to take out anything they brought in it. Nothing is to be left in my car. By me or anyone. I too have gotten in cars and had to clean the floor just to have a place to put my feet. Or a place to sit. I've also had to go inside to get a towel to put on the seat to keep my clothes from getting dirty. And I think this all has gone too far. Yes, we pay $20,000 plus for our autos this is base price for anything. Or whatever the price. I think how you keep your home and your car reflects on you, or me. ;)

When my kids lived at home you could always tell you had driven what vehicle. Mine was always clean but theirs were always filled with food wrappers or left over food or all sorts of papers. Then when they had kids they still did not clean up. I used to hate to get in the car with them cause they had stuff that their kids dropped. Yuck. I have to have a clean car.

Well, I always keep my car clean because I don't wish to be driving a car full of trash. To me is disgusting to be surrounded by dirt. I'm always on top of my son because he loves to keep his car full of stuff and it doesn't take so much effort to throw the garbage out of the car.

I do not drive, my hubby is the driver in our house. He keeps his car half and half. It is not trashy dirty, but neither is it clean. He took it too the carwash last about 2 weeks ago and then because it was hot and sunny he also cleaned it inside and out as well. But it is not as dirty as some I have seen.

Oh twoey68 I know exactly what you mean. And It seems everytime I get in my parents car I have to clean trash a store bag totally full or have to wade it just to get in and go somewhere. I have tried suggesting getting those car trashcans but they complain they are to small and fill up to fast. It would be simpler if they took the trash put it in a bag and everything they exited the car took the trash with them and disposed of it properly. I am always picking trash up because if I don't clean it when I am in a hurry then it is always blowing out. Makes you wonder if they keep house as bad as they keep their cars. I know my moms least favorite thing to do is clean.

I like to try and keep the interior of my little red wreck clean and tidy and usually clean out once a month. I keep a KFC bucket in the back of my car behind the drivers seat so that any rubbish and litter can go straight into the bucket. At least that way all I need to do is empty the trash LOL

my husband keeps an untidy car - he just considers it his security system.... ain't no one going to be hiding behind his seat in the dark (they couldn't fit in there with all that *stuff*)

I don't drive but my husband does. Now, his car is his 2nd baby besides his son. And the only mess you can see inside are the biscuit crumbs my son leaves behind. This irritates my husband and complains about it. He's a bit of a slob when it comes to keeping our house clean. But when it comes to his car, he reacts when there's trash that he didn't leave. My husband regularly checks his car for any trash left as soon as he came from work. At least, I don't need to extend my cleaning skills to his car. He makes sure that he does it himself.

I used to keep my car clean and was a bit of a fanatic about it till other people that were always riding in my car started helping trash it out. Then after a while I just kinda gave up lol. You kinda get tired of cleaning up the car of your stuff, some kids stuff, their parents stuff, or whoever else you give a ride to. I used to be real strict, nobody eats in the car and nobody but me and my g/f drinks in the car. Well that went out the window really fast lol. I used to say no smoking in my car PERIOD lol well that didn't go out the window lol (pun) it went to my back seat where I have ciggarette burn holes in a few different spots that nobody seems to want to claim lol. To make a long venting story short lol, I just kinda gave up after a while. I try to keep it semi-clean and I don't let it get too bad and if it does I start getting onto people. Though my car is probably messy at points I do spend a lot of time in it traveling so I would expect it from the travel it gets. There are very few that offer to help clean what they dirty up when they get out of my car most of the time (with some exceptions). My two cents... ~*~J_Dawgs~*~

Our car is a metal dinosaur! It is almost as old as I am! I really don't think it is going to last much longer though, and then hopefully, we will get a better, nicer car. Ours really is a wreck on wheels. Poorly looked after by the people who gave it to us, and really messed up. We try to clean out the junk, but with little kids, there is always something we are going to miss. Like that banana that somehow managed to get under the front seat and grow it's own penicillin colony.

I know exactly what you mean. I have friends that are like that. They have nice cars and you would think that the inside were a trashcan. I don't have a really nice car, but you had better believe I keep it REALLY clean inside. I live on dirt roads so it's impossible to keep the outside clean.

I had to laugh when I read this post, you are talking about my best friend! LMAO she has a 2 year old jeep, everytime I go anywhere with her I have to clean out the floor board and the set to even get in it. She does alot of yard sales and goes to goodwill a lot, and there is always so much junk in the back seat and the cargo area that it spills out into the front seat. Not to mention her kids are slobs, so oh yes indeed I can relate to this one.

We have a car and a truck..I clean them and my husband trashes them..It bothers me to have a dirty car, actually i am embarrassed for anyone to go anywhere with me if my car is dirty..I clean out my car and his truck, however as soon as he gets in ,its a mess.He won't even wash them,i do the washing, and i ask him why he did not wash his truck and he says "oh when it rains it washes it,which is not true...So i am the auto cleaner around here..

My niece is good for trashing out her cars even thou there is no reason why she has all that garbage in it. My car starts out clean beginning of the week but come Friday, it's a mess being I have my paper routes and I just put the paper and plastic straps that bind them on the floor BUT, it gets cleaned out again on Friday after the routes are done. I can't stand having a mess in the car for more than a week. The outside is a different story being I go down gravel roads every day, it's pointless washing it. I give it a really good bath a few times a year. That's when I paint over any chips or scratches that are otherwise hidden under all the dirt.

LOL! I keep the inside of my car clean. I can't say I do a great job of keeping the outside clean but, in my defense, we are on a 100% outdoor watering ban in my county in Georgia right now due to the drought so, washing my car could cost me a lot of money by having to pay a fine. Last I knew, fines last season for breaking the 100% watering ban, were getting up to $1,000! A hefty price to pay for a sparkling clean car. But, I don't leave junk and crap all over my car. I keep a jacket in there on my passenger seat because it can get cold in office. I have a couple of magazines in my center console (sp) which I am about to remove. I have a folder of store coupons in the slot in my door so that I have them in my car should I stop at some store and need them. It is a way to keep me organized and is not all over the place but kept neatly in a folder. Other than that, I keep a roll of paper towels on the floor in my back seat for messes in case my morning latte spills or someone spills a drink in my car. And, there is an umbrella in that same door slot as the folder with the coupons. I am pretty clean. Everything has its place. I can't stand getting into someone else's car and, before I can get in, they have to clean crap off their seats and shove cups and junk around on the floor so my feet will fit. Or, toss it all in the back. Nope! I don't like it when that happens to me so, I won't do that to someone else! LOL!
