My 12-year-old son bought some stinky bait for catfish and he was disappointed because the catfish didn't go after his bait. Have you had success using the catfish stinky bait?

How do you keep in on the hook? My stinkbait always dissolves before I can catch anything.

I've used it but had no success with it, either. From what I've noticed, catfish will grab anything if they are hungry and if they are in the area. I've caught most of my catfish with worms. Some I caught with corn (I was going after trout). I've caught a few with shiners. It depends also on what they prefer to eat that day. Fishing is a "some days you do and some days you don't" kinda thing.

Thanks for your reply. We are trying to think of different ways we might try to attract catfish with it. One thing that makes it hard to use is that it dissolves and won't stay on the hook.

In my experience, I've caught catfish on anything and everything...worms, corn, boiled cornmeal/karo syrup balls, corn, etc The largest I ever caught was 13 lbs. I caught it in the Missouri River off Sioux City, Ia. I ran out of worms and stuck a piece of baloney from my sandwich on my hook. Go figure. Just make sure your bait is all the way on the bottom.

Thanks for the tip. I'll try some different kinds of bait.
