yes, it's called water therapy. It's an old chinese practice that is said to make the digestive system healthier. It gives us faster bowel movements and faster metabolism, thus the loss of weight. It also flushes harmful toxins in the body.

Drinking water instead of soda or juice with meals can help you eat less, hence losing weight. It also helps hydrate your body and help it mobilize nutrients and get rid of waste.

Drinking a lot of water can help you to lose weight but you also have to take in less calories than you use so you need to also limit what you eat and exercise. Water fills your stomach and makes you feel fuller sooner than if you ate with nothing at all in your stomach.
