spalladino responded to a discussion called Uninsured Twice As Likely to DIE in the ER in politics.

I have been so focused on illness that I hadn't considered injuries...but it makes sense that hospitals would try to limit their financial losses when it comes to the uninsured.

spalladino responded to a discussion called Is there something interesting on your place of living? in questions & answers.

I live a few miles from a very large lake in south central Florida that a lot of folks like to come for the fishing. This is also a beautiful, country setting with acres of grazing cattle, sugar cane fields, citrus groves that smell lovely when the trees are in bloom and fields of various crops. We have a lot of canals here, along the side of many of our roads, so you can just pull over and thr...

spalladino responded to a discussion called Have you ever tried Vistaprint? in questions & answers.

I've only used them for business cards...have probably done 9 or 10 orders through them...standard and custom ...and haven't had any problems or been signed up with anyone else, that I know of.

In a situation like this I would take the less risky option of pretending that I don't notice the elderly woman. Of course she shouldn't be using her status as a senior citizen to take advantage of the others who are already waiting but I wouldn't want to risk the wrath of anyone who felt that she should be given special treatment due to her age and physical condition.

spalladino responded to a discussion called I am NOT ready for the Holidays. Are you? in life.

I never decorate until after Thanksgiving either and Walmart really irritated me with their HallowThanksChristmas thing they had going on. We have Thanksgiving dinner at my house every year and this year it has to be EARLY because my daughter has to be at work at 3:00. So, I guess I'll be starting the turkey at some ungodly hour this year.[em]blink[/em]I'm not even thinking about Christmas...

spalladino responded to a discussion called A funeral that turns into a family and friends reunion! in life.

We have the same thing here in the U.S. It's called a wake. I've been to many funerals during my lifetime and the gathering together of friends and family following the burial is very comforting. We've had family reunions from time to time...never often enough for me though.

spalladino commented in a discussion called So IS Sarah Palin "Qualified to be President of the United States"? in politics.
First of all, Maggie, the book has been printed and is out. Are you suggesting that anyone who doesn't fall all over themselves supporting Palin is a leftist liberal? I'm a moderate Republican and I can assure you that I was not the only moderate or conservative who had issues with Palin that were serious enough to cause us to vote against her in the election. I also found your comment t...

Destiny, as always you have nothing of substance to add but you just can't stop yourself from jumping in and showing us once again what an idiot you are.[em]lol[/em]

spalladino commented in a discussion called So IS Sarah Palin "Qualified to be President of the United States"? in politics.

"She really could have taken the opportunity to change the minds of those who doubted her during the election but instead she reinforced all of the doubts so many of us had." I've heard and read more than once, Annie, that positioning herself as a serious candidate in the future will be next to impossible unless she does something meaningful in the interim. Raising PAC money so that she can ...

If it's the same person each time I guess I would have to say something to her after she cut in front of me the first time. I would politely remind her that I let her do it before but that she really needs to wait for her turn. If it's a different person each time...I'd shop somewhere else.

So how was your football Sunday?

We were honestly getting ready to change the channel and go back to the NASCAR race after the Miami Dolphins screwed up in the 4th. quarter and Tampa Bay took the lead away from them. But....with...

Execution in less than half an hour

In less than half an hour (barring an unlikely stay by the governor) John Allen Muhammad, better known as the D.C. or the Beltway Sniper, will be executed by lethal injection for the random murders...

Partners who go off the deep end...how do you deal with it?

Swine Flu in our small town...one is a relative

I live in a very small town in Florida. Not a tourist destination but the snowbirds are starting to arrive from up north...not that I'm blaming them. This past week there have been at least two cases...

Are those your kids or grandkids? I'm not sure anymore - I went back through some of your old posts and you were talking about grandkids.

Anyway, they're adorable!!=D

South Central, FL huh? I've been to Tampa and also Jacksonville. That was a long time ago. Haven't had a chance to go back to FL but my grandmother is inviting me to go crabbing with her! I'm looking for vacation time and save up some money for it as well.

Have a good day!
