I attempted to make an angel food cake from scratch. I had made noodles from some extra eggs that we had and needed to use up the whites. I think I must not have cooked it long enough - even though I cooked it the amount of time in the recipe - because when I turned it onto the funnel to cool, it fell out of the pan!

Well don't be discouraged....they are very fussy cakes to make from scratch! Is is soggy inside? When you do them they should spring back when you touch them....but try again sometime...humidity unfortunately has alot to do with how they turn out too!

Yes, it's soggy inside. I think maybe the temperature on my oven may be off, so it probably didn't cook quite long enough. It tastes good - it just looks really bad! It's not humid here - rarely is - but it's very windy today.

That stinks! I've never had any problem with these, but my mother uses the same recipe and it falls about half of the time for her. What I've found to be the key, for me, is to beat the whites to living hell. The recipe might say that it just needs to have stiff peaks, but I always beat it until they're tearing. And then, when mixing everything else in, it gets beaten some more.
