Hi, I've been struggling in the homosexual issue lately. My church taught me that it's a sin. But I just wonder why so many people out there still live as lesbian/gay especially they are Christian. Can share with me the bible verse and what you think of this issue? thanks and have a nice day.

The truth is the bible verses they use to cite being gay is wrong with are actually really taken out of context. There are a lot sites on the net that can give you the true meaning of those verses and not what the churches try and sell you.

I'm an athiest. I did go to Catholic schools though. I think that people use religion to back up the stupidest things, I tend to get the "By being a vegetarian you are acting against God by not eating the beautiful animals he's put on earth" I find it better to just be a good person and treat everyone equally but to help you out on this point I personally think that this shouldn't be questioned as being put against someones faith. It's a natural thing, it isnt doing anyone any harm so why is there so much hate against homosexuals. If you want a quote how about "Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself" That of course doesn't just mean the person living next to you but everyone that inhabits this earth.

If it were against religion, why are there so many different kinds of religion? Because man interprets the bibles (of all religions) in his own way. My younger brother was studying to be a what I call a "Holy Roller" and came up to visit one time. He tried to convert me to his religion and was going to have some Seventh Day Adventist come to talk to me. I told him that I would talk to them in either a Catholic church or a Jewish synagogue with either a Catholic priest or a Jewish Rabbi. I never saw any of the people because he knows that these people are not as well educated as the priest or rabbi. Just as some people thing that people of other races are not as advanced as themselves, they are thinking the same about homosexual people. It is going to be a long and hard battle to get all of the world to accept homosexual people, I believe that in the future that will be done.

Hi lieanat, I don't believe that homosexuality is against the Christian faith. Being gay/lesbian is not a choice, people are born that way and they cannot change. Read the teachings of Christ as contained in the four gospels and you will fine that he did not condemn homosexuals, in fact he doesn't mention it at all. Jesus taught us to love others and not to judge. I am sure that many will quote the writings of Paul, but put your faith in the teachings of Christ himself. There were many leaders in the early church and they did not all agree. Blessings.

A lot of people ARE lesbian/gay, that is why they live "that way." It's not a choice they make, anymore than being straight is a choice. I do not know of anyone who would choose to be gay and get harassed, ridiculed, and face physical harm. Some even struggle with their Christianity and feelings of guilt. This is a situation that can not be explained in black and white terms.
