Have you met friends you made online?

I have met some wonderful people online - mainly through a parenting site I use - and am actually going to meet 2 of them in person this weekend. I also speak to a few of them frequently on the phone.
Have you met someone you met online in person? Were they what you expected? Did you get along as well in person?

I have met a few people in person that i have met online. One was an ex gf of mine the others turned out to be some of my best and closest friends. I even attended one of their weddings. If i could afford it i would meet many more that i know from online.

Yeah it was nice getting to meet the few that i have. I only wish i could've seen a few of the ones i met for longer than i've gotten to.

I meet my partner online, I meet wonderful people online, I make business contacts online.. yes, its great to be part of the world wide web :D

I have met several people from online and some I never saw again and others just kind of slipped away. I also had a 3 year relationship with someone I met online and it might have been longer or still been if my family wasn't so close to me and interfered somewhat. We did remain friends for a while but I haven't heard from him for a while now. Most of those who I met were pretty much as I pictured and that is probably because I usually chat with them for quite a while before I make plans to meet them. I have plans this summer to meet more people from the 2 yahoo groups that I belong to. One got married and is having a second wedding that 2 others of us are going to and we will get to meet each other. The other group is having a convention that I am seiously thinking about going to to meet a whole group of them.

As 4 me i ve met many friends only .. some of them i have met in real they are real nice... i have appx 600 contacts in my messenger .. people from everywher in the world... however its not safe to meet people we chat with u never know on whom we may fall on

I don't talk alot with people unknown online,but i met one once 4 years age. I thought he was excellent, knowing many and can do a lot i don't know.We had talked for 2 years before we met, and then we became very goog friend.
We keep in frequent contact.

I have met a ton of folks in real life whom I met online. I actually arranged a party for a bunch of folks who I knew from from chatting online. For the most part their personalities offline matched how I knew them to be online, so yes they were what I expected. Some I now consider good friends. It can be a lot of fun to meet folks from online.
However, I must caution people to meet others in a safe environment, such as public places and with multiple people present because you never who really is lurking on the other side of the screen. If you can do it in a safe way it is great fun, though.
