The Jock Tax

States have found a new tax that will allow them to tax the rich athletics and entertainers. Any time a person performs in a state that has an income tax they can track the time worked and bill the person for the tax on the money they earned. It is worth going after the wealthy performers and sports stars. Tiger Woods plays in a golf tournament and wins $100,000. He is then taxed in that state and in his state of residence. This was popular because it is the wealthy that will have to pay. With technology it is becoming easier to tract people and where they earn their money. Think of a trucker who has to go through a weigh in station when they enter a state and when they enter a new state. The salesman that claims business expense for hotel stays and meals. We now have the technology to track the work of ordinary people who work in different states in a cost effective manner. This is just another example of a tax on the wealthy ends up being a tax on everyone. As states look to find new sources of tax revenue they will try everything especially if it effects people who can not vote against it. Just like the motel and resorts tax and taxes that were once a tax on business and the wealthy. Next time you stay in a motel look at the tax rate on the room. What tax will states enact to tax the people who do not have say in the tax. It may become a rallying cry "No taxation with out representation".

I bet Liberals could figure out how to tax anything. Give them enough time in office and they will run out of thing to tax. I do wonder what they would do then. How would they pass their time after every dime you earn is sent to government? No taxation without representation, well most people who where manufactured at the Government Institution for Dumding Down America do not even know what that statment is about, or why it was said.

Most people thought it was a good idea at the time to tax the wealthy. Now that they have the technology to collect from the rest of us why not??? After all is there a tax that the liberals did not like?
