What's for dinner and who is the chef?

I was just wondering what everyone is having for dinner tonight? We are having a chicken wellington with mashed potatoes and brocolli. My mouth is watering while it cooks. Well that is the adults dinner anyways, the children had beef and vegetable casserole on mash and ate every last mouthful the hungry little things and are onto a fruit platter for dessert. I love to cook so dinner is my nightly job (shh don't tell anyone I actually really like it!) - so I guess that makes me the chef in the household. Although I am teaching my hubby to cook and he can now cook a decent meal, still doesn't enjoy cooking like I do, but he can at least do it now! Does everyone sit down for dinner at your place and eat the same meal? Or is your place like mine, kids eat early and adults eat later due to work ending time? Who cooks in your household and do you enjoy it? What's for dinner at your house?

I'm not sure what's for dinner tonight yet but I have an idea and I will be the chef. I live away from my mother so nobody will cook for me but me. When I'm home, my mother always do the cooking. Everybody eats together and prays together. hehehe.. It's always been like that except for breakfast because I don't take one and I usually wakes up late.

I made spaghetti. Everyone is eating it right now. My 7 and 9 year old don't like hardly anything the same. Cooking for them is a pain in the neck! They live with their dad and stepmom during the school year and I guess they get to eat seperate meals. That is not how things are run around here. I am trying my best to make stuff they will both eat. Kids!

Tonight for dinner, we are using the gas grill to grill up some pork loins and bake the baked potatoes in, then we will have a salad. For dessert, I think I might whip something up, but I don't know what yet. We will have to see about dessert. Maybe an oatmeal cake, I know I have all the ingredients.

I have always wanted to have pork on the grill - yum. I think I want to come and have dinner at your house sometimes because my other half does not like pork so I don't tend to cook it, because apparently even the smell of it cooking is offensive! How could he say such a think about yummy pork!?!

I am and always have been the chef in my house. I've been on weight watchers for 2 months and every Saturday morning, before I do the grocery shopping for the week, I go through my many ww cookbooks and pick dinners to cook for the week. Then I list every nights dinner on a dry erase board on the frige, to answer the never ending question "Whats for dinner?" Tonight we're having Chicken in Creamy Herb Gravy. Its one I haven't tried yet but it sounds good. Its actually served over whole wheat waffles! Hopefully it will be a family favorite. I have 2 teenage daughters and a 6 year old son. At dinner its always at least me, my husband and son, sitting at the table. 2 or 3 nights its all five of us depending on the girls work and social scheduals. When we're all home, we do all sit and eat together-its a must!

I used to map it all out for myself and stick it on the fridge too! But I got bored and hated feeling locked into a certain dinner - in case I didn't feel like cooking it! So now I make a general list of seven meals I will make through the week and then make them as I choose. I am alot busier now so I have to work around things that come up spontaneously. I found that if 'life' got in the way of my dinner planner I would get disappointed if my plans were ruined. I don't really work well with routine. I sort of like things to go with the flow a bit. Maybe these days I am a little more laid back. Sometimes I have to come up with dinner in half an hour, on those days a roast just wouldn't cut it! Your dinner sounds very yummy. I have never had wholeweat waffles - only the unhealthy ones you slop butter and maple syrup all over!

The schedule is actually working really well for me. I run a daycare from of my home and before I had it planned out what dinner was I wouldn't even think about it till all or most of the kids left for the day-made for frequent quicky not too healthy meals! Now that I know what I'm making, I can prepare if need be throughout the day. Of course sometimes meals are switched for one reason or another, but for the most part it helps me be a little more organized, as I've been accused of being organizationaly challenged! lol

Lol my mouth started to water as well. My fiance's mom is usually the cook for us, and we both enjoy her meals. My Fiance doesn't like certain things and neither do I so usually she will fix either two things (depending on the main dish) or she will fix another side dish for him or us depending on the dish. Well it's fairly early in the morning here so for what's for dinner... We don't yet know. I can cook a few basic meals, but sadly some of these are things my fiance doesn't like.

I have to say, I would like anything my other half cooked me!!! So you must have a fussy fiance, or definate taste differences I guess. My other half loathes onions so I have pretty much given up using them so we can enjoy meals together. Oh it is moring where you are, I guess it is a bit early to be thinking of dinner. My dinner was fantastically yum, just so you know!

well he was forced to eat things as a child he did not like to eat, so now he chooses not to eat them... I don't blame him, because I was also forced to eat things I didn't want to... but I have grown to like them. Yes, it was quite early when I first responded. Onions make for good flavoring on some dishes, but i'd rather keep them out as well. I am glad that your dinner was delcious.

Today I will have fried fish with rice and steamed mix veg. Because I live alone I can start dinner whenever I want and don't have to wait for anybody at all. Heck sometimes I'll have a warm lunch instead of dinner. I'll just have a couple of sandwiches in that case. I don't envy you one bit having to cook two seperate dinners. Although I like to cook that's just a bit too much for me!

Oh fried fish, I wish I could eat that but I am allergic, I do remember how yummy it was before my allergy reared its ugly head! I know what you mean about the two dinners being a bit much. When I get overwelmed I start making toss together dishes, like casseroles or spagetti bolognaise, so that I can just warm it up as needed. It is great to have frozen meals too. Not the pre-prepared ones, yuck, but meals that I have pre-cooked that I can just thaw and eat - yum!

I agree with you that it's good to have some meals in reserve just in case. Once in a while I'll make a big batch of something or other. Usually it will be something like fried rice or fried noodles though because that's stuff that just needs to be made in bigger amounts. Then I'll make portions and freeze it. I try to keep an average of 2 or 3 just in case I get sidetracked and forget to make dinner on time. Sometimes I'll be so engrossed that I'll forget to eat and only realise when I'm really, really hungry. Then all I need to do is heat it up in the microwave for a few minutes and I'll still have a nice hot meal.

I haven't decided what we are having for dinner yet. Probably something fairly easy. My husband is working second shift, so he won't be home for dinner, it will just be my 2 year old and me. I'm really leaning towards pancakes. My son wanted some yesterday, but I didn't have time to fix them for him. This morning my husband fed him cereal for breakfast, so I think I might surprise him by fixing him pancakes and a couple of sausage links tonight.

Well, I had eaten a pasta at Pizza Hut sometime back and it was delicious and I wanted to make a "somewhat" similar dish at home. So I combined pasta, with Black Bean and Corn Salsa and added cocktail sausages and topped with a variety of shredded cheeses and baked in the oven. Then I had garlic bread to go with it. It was delicious! I cooked plenty in case one of our kids and their families popped in. Well, they didn't so we will be eating leftovers probably tomorrow night. Have a blessed day!

Tonight, for dinner, I'll probably have whatever is in the fridge! I hardly ever cook, so you're more than welcome to live with me and be my chef! ha ha ha. I'll probably just boil some asparagus or something.

Our house consists of four adults, me being the only female. Right now the guys are gone on a five day fishing trip and I won't see them until Sunday evening so I can eat whatever my little heart desires. Out of the four of us, three like to cook. The fourth gentleman does dishes so it all works out. I have to admit though I do love to cook and try new recipes. There is nothing better than a home cooked meal with all the fixings. My hubby and I are home first so we usually do the bulk of the cooking. Jeff cooks on rainy days when he's not working and he makes bread every week for lunches. Bernie just does dishes. We don't let him cook. All he ever makes is Kraft dinner and hotdogs...lol. We very rarely get to sit at the dinner table all at the same time but when we do we make it an occasion. Tableclothes and fancy dishes. Any excuse for a celebration. So tonight I've fired up the BBQ and I'm having a small steak with corn on the cob and a baked potato. Fast, easy, and scrumptious.

Wow! That sounds very delightful. Tonight, nobody will be cooking since my mom had to run a few errands today. And when she runs errands she just buys food outside and that's what we have for dinner. So the credit goes out to the cook of the restaurant she would be buying our dinner from.

Well it is indeed mouth watering. In my house am the chef, my husband cannot even manage to cook basic things even. Tea is what he can prepare for himself and me(ofcourse not for guests). We usually have dinner together as that is the time all of us are at home. Today planned for some spinach reciepe, so lets hope all enjoys it.

Yum, spinich. In my youth I really despised spinich because its taste seemed so incredibly strong. But now my palate quite likes spinich. I love spinich, beef and fetta home cooked pies - yum!
