Well last night I decided to go to bed early and had someone else take my daughter to softball practice and pick her up. I was sound asleep and I hear bang bang bang on the door and my daughter yells mom get up we have to go to ER. Ok now that got me up right away and got my heart pounding rather quickly. Once I was able to focus I found out my daughter was hit by a ball on the wrist and her and her dad were sure we should go to ER. Now normally if injured I do have to take her in because she has low bone density but I looked over her wrist and did not see where it would have even a hair line facture so instead put ice on it and let her sleep with me to the movie of her choice. This morning she can move it a little sore but still there is no brusing and no bad swelling. I think I made the right choice. However I have asked that I not be woken up to those words ever again. Do you have those kinds of dramatics in your home too?

I think that I probably would have made the same decision as you. If it doesnt get better, I would the opt to take her to he doctors office over the ER. I hate the ER! Oh yes, I have drama here too. My son had some friends over and was hit in the groin with a basketball. He knew that something was wrong and he had to go to the ER. Well, me not having that on my body made him wait and show dad. He didn't want to show dad, so I gave him Advil and we called the dr. They suggested we go to the ER as the doctors office was closed. Ends up we drove to the ER~ he got out and said it was feeling better. I guess either the Advil kicked in or the thought of having a stranger touch and look at his groin made it all better. Oh yes....drama comes with boys as well as girls.

having someone exaggerating a situation is just normal, especially when you have a child. i am also like that, small problem when it comes to health of my family really sends me into panic. once, i accidentally cut my finger with a knife and i collapsed just seeing the blood. when i'm back on my normal condition, i was ashame to know that it was just a tiny cut that can be treated with a bethadine and band aid, i thought it would already send me to the hospital.

Well I am so glad that she is ok and that you tried that first before rushing up to ER Yes I have been woken up with the News that my Daughter had been taken to Hospital and she was on her way home, she would not let her Friends ring me, as she knew I would panic She was ok though but in Pain, they where on a night out and one of her Friends under the Influence of Drink started on my Daughter, she knew my Daughter bleeds easily and for a long time when she starts and hit her on the Nose, so her other Friends called an Ambulance and they took my Daughter in till the bleeding stopped, good job she did not have a lot to drink, needless to say she does not talk to this Friend since then and this happened 4 years ago

I can't say that we have that type of dramatics in this house. I would have been freaking out if I had woken up to hearing those words. I am glad that you daughters wrist seems to be fine today though.
