Has anyone had surgery to remove an ovary?

Has anyone had one of their ovaries removed. I am having surgery to have my left ovary removed due to an ovarian cyst. They are going to try to do a small slit in the belly- button and remove it that way. But if there is any problems they will have to cut.
Has anyone else had this surgery and how did it go?

I had a ovary removed over 40 years ago with a cyst. Back then they made a larger slit than they do today. I had a fairly easy time for back then. The scar is about 6inches long. I recovered very will. But things should be a lot easier these days. Good luck.
