Where did you go? How long was the trip? Did you have it pre-planned or did you just "wing" it? My husband and I took a roadtrip from California to Louisianna one year. It was very long and dry (Texas!) but it was still enjoyable! I found that I really love taking nice roadtrips! We got to spend a lot of time talking, enjoying the scenery, enjoying music, and just eating out along the way! Please do share your best roadtrip memories!

The best trip I have ever been on was when I was in 5th grade I think and me and my parents went with my aunt, uncle and cousin down to Disney World, for a week, it was a lot of fun, except it was really cold down there, cause it was the middle of January when we went.

Well that's definately a nice trip for a 5th grader :-) And that was smart of your parents - at least there probably wasn't long lines for everything! I recently took my kids to Disneyland in LA and it was packed out! We definately re-thought taking them in the spring/summer time again! Thanks.

Yeah it was a nice trip, what was even better was that we went on a bus, because my cousin was in the marching band at her school, and they were playing at Disney World,so it wasnt that expensive to go,have a good day, good luck with your life, and Happy Posting.

The best I ever have was from Canton Michigan to St.Louis.Me and my friend visit our friend there, it's really exciting since we are not familiar yet with that place. We used report from map quest as our guide and it is really interesting, we stop at the front on his hotel. We stop to fill fuel,go to rest room and buy some foods to eat during the trip. When we go back, that was the exiting and dangerous trip I ever have,my friend is my look out for the police the maximum speed of the mercury villager we are using is 160 mph,I did used it in maximum for a couple of minutes if the road is clear and free from police, then back to 90 mph, we took St. Louis to Canton at 6 hrs safe.

Wow. Sounds like fun and quite dangerous at the same time (smile). I'm glad you made it back safely! Being a mom I don't know that I would recommend testing the speed limit on rural roads, but I'm thankful you did not get hurt or hurt others!

Yeah and we thanks to God for that. But, you know what there is still a few faster than us,and if we saw them going slowly we know that there is a police somewhere but after a few miles we can see them speeding up again and we will follow but after a few miles, they already have a long gap with us.Well that was a sort of experience only and could not be done every time because one mistake will put me in danger ( at a minimum ).

I took one crazy trip to Detroit on weekend with some of my girls. We went to look for bridel wear and to meet on of my grils' boyfriends. Oh my Gosh... The trip was planned sort of... We ended up leaving in nice weather on a nice drive, 5 hours away accross the border. Had a nice day, but when we were about to leave, it began to snow. We got on the highway and the car started to slide! Soon we were caught in the worst ice storm I've ever seen!!! And I'm Canadain!!! Well we tried to look for a place to stay the night and we ended up on Eight Mile!!! LOL!!! Eventually we found a better hotel and go home safely the next day. On the way home we saw a million cars in the ditch! Scary then but funny when we look back on it!

Wow! Detroit when it's snowing does sound scary! But I'm in Southern California where we never see snow really! That sounds like a great girl's weekend getaway though! I'm glad no one got hurt!

My family is a very sarcastic bunch. We went to Pennsylvania two years ago and that was interesting. We always get lost, lol. But it's really fun to get lost with our family. Everything seems so worthwhile even if we don't make our planned destination. I just like enjoying the funny conversations about everything and nothing.

Yes that sounds like fun! I find that the best times I enjoy with my family are when we are just driving about - nothing really planned, just enjoying each other and feeling no pressure to get anywhere fast! Thanks for sharing! I'd love to go to Pennsylvania!

Sounds really beautiful! I went to West Virginia probably about 13 years ago - all I remember was all the greenery. It was beautiful! Thanks for sharing!

My friends and I not long ago decided to go to Skegness in the UK for the weekend, we pretty much just "winged" it and decided to gon that day, we only had enough money for spending money and petrol so we camped on the beach, was uncfortable as hell. Really fun and relaxing to hear the sound of the ocean though... We just got wasted and walked around skegness out of our lemons for 2 days... Was pretty awesome! Best road trip song: Roack and roll all night haha

That sounds nice to go to sleep listening to the ocean! I had several friends from the US that went to Europe and that area for about six months to just backpack around! They had an awesome time.

I took a trip across most of the US one time from Washington D.C. to Yellowstone National Park. It was a really memorable trip, and we saw several great things along the way like Devils Tower, Mt. Rushmore, The Badlands and Old Faithful among others. It was a great trip and one I would love to repeat, but I think I will wait to see if fuel gets any cheaper next tme I will go across Canada.

That sounds really awesome! I'd love to go to Yellowstone, Mt. Rushmore, etc.! Did you stay in a cabin out there?

At first I was going to say it was a coast-to-coast drive, but that one had a lot of not so interesting driving in the middle of the trip. I think the best one was when we drove around Lake Michigan. We love going to the beaches and checking out lighthouses and we got to do that at least 50 times. Some of the little towns along the lake were fun too. We found interesting diners, outdoor art exhibits and ran into a few festivals and firework displays along the way.

I think the one I enjoyed the most was riding my motorcycle around the Mt Rushmore area. I also had a nice pretty drive in Michigan, there are a lot of trees there, and and very pretty roads.
