what is andropause?

Hi we all have heard abt menopause in women,i read somewhere that men also suffer from something called andropause as they age-is it true?

Andropause is the condition due to the low level of testosteron in the body. Testosteron is a male hormone. The loss of testosteron is gradual. Some men are impacted more than the others.

hi thanx or the information-but can thi be cured?does it affect men as baly as menopuse affects women?atleast for my mother menopause was the worst thing that happened to her.

Hi Andropause has a wide variety of treatments. One can undergo testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) in consultation with a doctor. Men who are suffering with andropause will be more anxious, nervous, lethargy, sleeplessness, hot flashes etc. TRT may have some side effects also. So before undergoing the treatment a physician should examine the entire body functions and advice whether TRT is needed or not. I think there are treatments for andropause in complementary medicine like homoeopathy and ayurveda also.

According to my sister, yes, men do "suffer" from male menopause. Although, in hearing her stories, it sounds as though she "suffers" his menopause more that he does. Of course, having heard her husband's stories about his experience with her PMS over the years, he would probably consider it pay back (in a verly loving way!!) My sister made her "men-get-menopause" observation years ago, long before it became common/accepted knowledge.

hi, so ur sisters husband is suffering from andropause, so how does it effect ur sis? is it because of her menopause that she feels that her husband is going thru wat is called males version of female menopause? but man however MCP they may be they r brought up and their DNAs n RNAs are so programmed that they will conquere any mountain/hill just for the sake of their close ones(not for themselves) and in the bargain they will perish but with lot of pleasure and pride.
