Ok I was driving down my street and I was driving slow because there are bumps in the road. So I see these children playing in their yard and then I see a small child running out the gate right in front of me I stop and blow the horn and then the parents runs out grabs the child and say nothing to me and take the child back into the house. My heart has jumped into my throat and I'm like thank god I was driving slower then normal because that child could have died because of me and I am angry at the parent for not watching the child closer or at least put a gate in front of their door. doesn't this just make you angry?

I do get angry. It is like they forget how fast a child can slip away. Cars do not stop on a dime.

I'm glad you were driving slow also. I'm glad you seen the child too and had enough time to slow down or stop. I cannot believe the parents let that child run out like that. I know sometimes that parents do get busy at times and do get distracted but that is all it takes and the child is gone. I think the parnet should put a gate at the door also. Thats is too dangerous to let the child have access to the street like that.

This happens in my neighborhood all the time and it makes me very angry. What's worse than almost hitting a four year old on a bike that rides out in front of you? Having them flip you off! (And yes I tried to talk to the parents about it but they don't speak English) I can't believe that parents aren't watching their children, teaching them safe habits regarding cars, and also teaching them to respect other adults in the community.
