Has your laptop ever gone beserk?

One time my laptop was trying to hibernate, but I kept typing and a alarm went off that could have woken the dead.
It was shrill and shrieking and the laptop wouldn't turn off. I had to hold down the start button for 30 to 40 seconds. Fortunately when it rebooted their was not permanent damage.

I have a Dell company puter. and fortunatly we get tech support that is excellent. Mine acted up a few times and it was usually a virius or not updating my puter thru microsoft and thah surprised me! Also toolbars, they said caused conflicts, I deleted some toolbars and that did the trick! Just some food for thought! tdemex

hmmm interesting. Fortunately the going berserk was a one time occurence.
