strawberry!!!

Hello! I have never actually gone strawberry picking at a strawberry farm or something like that. We used to have our own strawberries growing up. Nearby where we live in Carlsbad, CA, they have a huge strawberry field probably taking up quite a few acres of land where people pick their own strawberries and then they ring you up. My husband and I always thought about taking our kids there to pick some - we thought it may be a fun family thing to do!

There are several big strawberry farms near me, so we go to at least two of them. I love picking them! I don't usually buy strawberries in the store because of the way they package them. They put them in those little plastic baskets and cover them with plastic or cellophane. The ones in the bottom are always mushy! lol I used to pick lots of them and freeze them so I could have them all year. When we had a hurricane, our power was out for almost 2 weeks and they all thawed out and ruined. I haven't frozen any since then.

Yeah, actually I went just last week. I went to a place called Belvdedre Farms. They had beautiful berries and were oh so sweet. I made shortcake out of them. They were the best ones I ever had.
