And it's only round one. Seems to have taken forever for this announcement to be made. Now we await whether officially Hilary will stand beside him and go for Vice Presidency. I sincerely hope she does. If Obama and Clinton could stand together they would be formidable. What do you think?

Hi Tetchie, I'm sure the subject of Obama & Clinton & McCain & etc is riveting prime-time stuff in the USA. But I do wish the local media in Australia would give it a rest. It's like a long, drawn-out, never-ending circus. Perhaps that's what it's meant to be - something to keep the minions all distracted from the real world. But I have difficulty seeing the relevance outside the USA. I'd prefer to see a newsclip from The Simpsons or The Family Guy or Futurama rather than another news story about the US presidential nominations and primaries (whatever THAT is???). At least those shows have something that I can relate to. And I'd bet that a lot of Americans are starting to feel the same way.

I've heard Americans say the same thing - why are other countries interested in the American election and why don't other countries mind their own business? Problem with this is that when America sneezes the rest of the world catches a cold. Many decisions made by the US government has a flow-on effect on the world. Put that aside, this election is a media playground because Obama is not white and Hilary is a woman - this is history in the making. I'm surprised myself because I usually loathe politics and politicians have this way of making my blood boil, I have little respect for most of them. I do have an interest in this election because I feel change is coming which is something many people don't want. Obama impresses me, I know many people loathe him - that's politics. I've been the US for the last 3 months, I didn't realise Australian TV was flooded with it, must mean nothing interesting happening in OZ at the moment!

I think it would be a horrible move. While it may bring a bit of unity to the party, I don't think it would be enough to sway all the Clinton supporters to Obama. Furthermore, independent voters do not want two top liberals together running. Both of them have pushed the envelope in our country, and I'm not sure an African American and a woman running on the same ticket would be electable nation wide. That isn't me being racist or sexist, as I have no problem with the candidacy of either, but at the same time, I think our country does.

This will be a very interesting election. The word interesting sounds flippant in this situation. Your statement about thinking your nation is sexist and racist - often it is the loud minority that makes the situation seem more dire than it actually is. I think the majority of Americans are tolerant but less vocal. They will speak with their vote.

Is this true? Last I hear Hillary hadn't issued a former concession to the race. If she and Obama are on the same ticket, they will still face together the obstacles both of them faced as primary candidates. He has no plan for solving America's problems, and a lot of people don't want a Clinton in the White House at this point.

Yes it's true. Latest is Hillary has not decided whether she will stand as Vice President.

To be honest I don't know if he will or won't choose Hilary. I think he has named her as a possibility but will not make any quick decisions.
