This is one of the times I think the movie is better than the book. I thought the book moved a bit too slow for me, not that the book wasnt good or anything, its a great book.

Did you read the original or a translation? The original was difficult because it was written in a patois of English and Russian, and almost everyreader needed a glossary. I was finally able to get into it by reading it aloud, so that hearing and reading could be combined, and it was a gem! It was so fascinating, in fact, that I was a little afraid to see the film. Well, the movie was even better! I went so far as to base my Ph.D. on Kubrick's films as a result. The scary thing is that, in the 40+ years since then, so much of it has come to pass. It wasn't supposed to be a lesson in how life should be; but it showed that, if we're not careful, this could happen to us. It HAS!

You didn't say what movie or the name of the book was. But there have been times when the book is better than the movie. The movie always leave bits and pieces out of the story. Where the book makes you visualize what the writer is speaking about. So i would have to say book.

A good book is worth more than half a dozen movies. Movies rushes past us. Whereas book, we have to rush past them, read slowly. For me reading a book gives greater pleasure than seeing a movie.

I'm kind of torn between the two, but I'd have to say the movie. The book was great, but the movie just brings it to life. There were so many shocking parts in the book, and the movie makes them even more shocking because you get an actual picture of what's going on.
