How often do you give your dog a bath? Do you do it on a regular basis or only when necessary?

I don't think I've ever given our dogs a bath. They run around outside and keep themselves clean. They don't smell or look mucky, so I don't see any need.

Once a week or 2 a month is good so your dogs hair will not dry or shed. But it depends if its outdoor and indoor dog. Outdoor dog should be bath atleast 2 a week I guess. It is necessary to bath them if they really mess up and get stinky.

My sons inside toy poodle gets washed at least 2Xs a week, more if necessary The outside dog gets washed when the weather is warm or when she stinks so bad i can't stand it (i then let them wash her in the house if its cold outside).

Our dog goes to the groomer every 4 to 5 weeks and gets her hair cut, nails clipped and a bath. In bewteen these visits we bath her every week because she starts smelling. She really likes her bath (actually it is a shower with a hand held sprayer) and will step in by herself once we start the water. When we are done washing her she gets blow dried and is a beautiful, clean dog who runs around and struts her stuff!!
