I couldn´t agree with you more Hatley, and I think this is superb advice. Obviously not everyone has the time or the ability to volunteer, but all of us could reach out to another person. I used to volunteer for a charity which got groups of otherwise housebound elderly folk together for tea and a chat. How about ´If you fall off that wall/ kerb/ slide/ whatever, don´t come running to me`? It´s one of my favourite stupid sayings. Our old local ´all you can eat´restaurant had a 90 minute limit per table. So really it was an ´all you can eat in an hour and a half´restaurant.

It´s always very hard to tell on the internet whether someone is being truly sarcastic or really making a joke. I think it´s dangerous to make assumptions or to take offence when you only have the written word to go by and don´t know people very well.

My pets and children are constantly underfoot and I'm forever treading on them. The puppies and toddler are the worst, but I don't suppose they have learnt as many painful lessons as the older ones yet.
