I am not sure how far reaching Garden Appreciation Day is but here in New Brunswick Canada it's today. I love my backyard garden even if it is still only just getting started. The fact that we can live in the heart of a city and still grow food for ourselves and a few friends makes me happy. If you haven't started a garden of your own today would be a great day to start one, even if it has to be indoors, like having an indoor herb garden. I love adding herbs to my cooking, they brighten the taste so much. Do you have a garden appreciation day where you live?

No, but i think they should start one. i should recommend that ot the town council. I was just watching tohe Today show where they were discussing how many people are growing their own gardens to beat the high cost of food.

What a superb idea! No, I live on the West Coast of Canada and we do not have a Garden Appreciation Day.....but we should have! This spring would not have been a great celebration tho....we are having an extremely cold spring...May, and so far this June is depressing! Every day, so far we have had pouring rain...temperatures hovering around 10 degrees celcius, cold wind with the rain!. The only thing growing is grass & weeds. My lettuce, spinach & brassica's are liking it, but flowers, tomatoes, squashes, peppers are very unhappy! I think today I will build a tent over them, before the roots rot! We have had only about 5 springlike days in the last month and a half! Nice to hear from some-one on the East Coast. Cheers!
