Do you like to start discussions more, or do you like to respond to discussions more? Or do you like to do both equally? Which do you do more of? I like responding to discussions a lot more than I like starting ones. I do start some here and there, but I don't start nearly as many discussions as I respond to! Do you know which pays more? Does anyone know if starting discussions makes more money than responding to discussions? Or is it about the same?

I like to respond to a discussion. I think it is easier that way. In order to post a new discussion, I need to have an idea to start writing the discussion. The problem is the idea, most of the time I got none and my head is blank. It is a different story with responding to a discussion, most of the time, the title itself can trigger ideas on what to talk so it is easier.

I go by what kind of mood I'm in. Sometimes I love to start discussions because I have lots to talk about, and other days I have a lot of answers, advice or something in common with the person that starts the discussion. As for earning when it comes to starting or responding, I'm not too sure about the exact amount you make but I do know that if you put quality into your posts then that's what matters.

I like to respond to discussions but I love it when I think of a discussion to start that lots of people can respond to. It's hard to think of something that a lot of different people would be interested in. But when I do start it rolling, it's nice to see all the responses coming in.

It is my aim to make 10 responses a day and start 3 discussions here in mylot. but if there are more topics that grabs my interest I do respond more that I start. Sometimes, I just came out of thoughts so even if I tried harder, there are no particular topic that my mind wanted to start with, so instead I browse to new discussions page and try to find there certain topics that interest me. I am not aware of points or earnings which activities earns us more, I just enjoy posting and responding.

I think i have so far written more posts to others' discussions than creating my own discussions. I just cant think of anything nice to discuss about. But when i do think of a good one i just write it down here. As for posts, there are very few discussions which i cant respond to (boring ones), and rest all i can answer and write long and nice. I am planning to give more concentration more on discussions in the future. Cause i think i can earn more that way.

I actually prefer to respond to discussions more than to start them. It is only if I have a bunch of things to talk about that maybe I will start a discussion, Like if I have something going on then I will start a discussion and then try to respond back to what i started up. So I would have to say it is easier for me to respond than it is to start and I prefer it that way too.

i've learned to answer discussions more than posting my own. not because i prefer it, but because there are soooooo many discussions i can respond to and fewer topics i can create myself. and less people respond to my discussions (maybe they are boring haha).

I think I enjoy both equally. It is nice to start a discussion and see others respond to what I have written. If I have a question then it is nice because I might have an answer that I needed. On the other hand it is nice to see how others feel about certain issues. So I guess it just depends on how you look at it.

i like both equally. if think of something to ask or i am wondering about what other people's view or experience about a topic, i'll start a discussion. but i also enjoy responding to various discussions, that means my mind is thinking and i am practicing my english and writing skills! very beneficial for me!

Most of the time i comment to discussions. At first I tried starting discussions but didn't get a lot of comments from them. Later i found out that you can comment more that trying to start a discussion. I have started a few but not many. I have more comments to discussions than anything though. That is how I have increased my post from comments. There are so many topics to choose from that you can spend all day commenting.

I'm trying to do some of each. But I cannot get over the fact that many oldtimers here seem to disregard and ignore the posts of newbies. They also don't want to be friends with newbies. I've been on the internet - and posting on writing sites and message boards - since 1999. I'm not used to having a discussion not have responses. It has never happened anywhere else for me. I've seen many people say they only comment, but that's probably because they get discouraged when they don't get responses to topics. But, you know...if everyone only commented, who would be writing something for everyone to comment on?

I've never started my own discussion, I've only been commenting. I figured I would build up my posting score before I started making discussions.
