In Hartford Connecticut a 78 yr old man was a victim of a hit and run and people on the street just stood there and looked at him as he lay in the street cars that were driving down the road went around this man !!!! I am outraged by this how can anyone stand there and look at person regardless of their age get hit and do nothing??? the video showed the car speeding off and for a minute and a half people just kept looking at him laying in the street as they walked on the sidewalk and cars actually slowing down to go around him.. it makes me sick to think no one would come to this mans aid.. its scares the heck out of me to know that these people who were right there could be my neighbors I pray that I never need their help in a time of need... where is everyones consience today?? I personally would have been out in the middle of the road even if I could have done nothig to help him just for comfort to let him know he wasnt alone .. what would you do if you were to see something like this happen??? would you help or ignore it like hundreds of people did??

yes it seems people today just don't know what to do in some situations or just don't want to get involved..i remember standing at the lights to cross a crossing one time and an elderly lady tripped and fell on to the road I immediately went to help her but I didn't have the strength to pull her up everyone else just stood there looking, men and all stood and watched me struggling to help her up, I ended up saying to them can someone please give me a hand then a couple of men came to help me...why should they wait to be asked for heavens sake...sad world we have become...

I agree why is that?? I am not old I am 40 yet my parents taught me compassion and empathy for others and to always help in anyway I can and I have taught that to my daughters as well... How is it that some people didnt get that lesson? were their parents out to lunch??

Yeh I know my parents taught me all that too, or rather I followd by their example, maybe a lot of people these days with their parents working so hard are not given the time for their parents to show them these things, I am not sure...

I would have to help him, I couldn't live with myself if I didn't. I don't know what's wrong with people. We've all become so isolated from one another and desensitized to violence and crime. Something is going to break soon, it can't go on like this.
