I much prefer reading in bed. I find it more comfortable because I can stretch my legs way out and prop myself up with fluffy pillows. As for falling asleep, I have a hard time sleeping anyway, so if a book can make me sleepy, I'd be so happy. As it stands, if I really get into a book, I have a hard time putting it down even if I'm sleepy and will oftentimes stay up past the sleepiness to finish it.

Hi there moneymint18! I love reading books! I prefer sitting on a comfortable chair when reading. There are times though that I really love what I am reading so I end up lying on my bed reading the book late at night. Or, I would sit against my headboard.

I usually sit on an arm-chair reading a book or newspaper. When I read a book or magazine lying on the bed, I will fall asleep easily.

Ugh, reading while lying on the bed is a recipe for SLEEP! For me anyway. I'm definitely a 'read in a chair' kinda guy. It really doesn't matter how good the book is, if I'm lying down, I'm out.

Thanks for the response!! ya its true when you are reading and lying on the bed you feel sleepy. You cant believe buts true whenever i find some interesting book i feel to complete today only in that case you cant seat on chair for longer time. so i prefer to lying on the bed and finish it out.

For novels and casual reading, I prefer sitting on the bed to read, which I will eventually read lying on the bed with all sorts of positions lol. If I'm reading textbooks or whatever school related stuffs, I have to sit on the chair, if not I will fall asleep ;)

Actually I prefer to read a book lying down, cause I also use books to help put me to sleep, but it depends on the book. If I'm already on the most exciting part of it, I would sure read through in any position possible, hehehe. One time I was reading this book by Stephen King, and because I cant really put it down I brought it to work with me, hoping to read it during my break. And because I was so late for work, I took a cab, which, unfortunately is where I left the book behind. So, I had to buy another copy just to finish the book. Well, lesson learned, from then on I never read a book in a cab.

I mostly like to be lying down to read books. I do it both ways, but I think that lying on my bed is just more comfortable and I can sort of relax more that way. Even if I am sitting in a chair to read, I still like to put up the recliner and lean back in the chair a bit, so it is almost like lying down still.

If I read in bed I fall asleep very fast so I feel more comfortable reading in an armchair. There's nothing like reading in a big comfortable armchair. Anyway, it's my opinion.

I prefer to read curled up on the couch. This way I can have a hot cup of tea on the table beside me and room on the couch for one of the kids to cuddle up. I like to read in bed at night, but my arm goes numb from lying on my side.

I usually read in bed because I have this wonderful lamp that makes reading so much easier. But like the other people said, it does make me sleepy to read in bed. I also love to go out on the sun porch and read. Of course, I just plain love to read anyway. But I always read before I go to bed.
