what i like about vista is that you can save and edit on a cd or dvd over and over again. unlike a regular xp would require a dvdrw or cdrw. and the interface is good. only if you have 1 gig ram it wont run as fast.its like youre on xp with 256 ram.

vista has a different disk format that xp. udf 2.5. i used to teach tech support for hp and during our training, this was demonstrated to us by HP technical trainers. we wrote a file and saved it to the disk its a cdr then we opened it and edited the stuff we wrote. i asked a few of my tech friends and said that this was not impossible. the system does not close the cd making it possible to edit the files that were written.

I am afraid you are wrong you can't write multiple times on the same cd/dvd unless you have a rewritable cd/dvd and a cd/dvd + rw same as xp.

a friend who's a computer geek actually told me that vista slows down your computer by 10%. my new laptop came with vista and it takes FOREVER to load - considering i don't have that much files in it yet and i'm already working with an intel core 2 processor. i'm actually thinking of switching back to XP.. hopefully that's possible!

Terrible. Thats it. I have worked on vista for some time and soon left it. You can get carried awy with its 3d visual effects initially but in the end what you want is smooth performance. I got fed up of its never ending pop-ups and security checks. Its too slow on even 1GB ram though microsoft recommends 512 mb only. It has got problems with most of the softwares (like vlc).

Don't even try it they just suck, unstable eating way to many pc resourses for way too little things and they break your nerves by poping dialogs all the time, all that not mentioning that you will need to buy the LATEST edition of every single program you have on your pc

I cant say much nice about windows vista. Its pretty BUT it takes a lot of memory and cpu speed to run. An older computer can just not handle vista. I hate the fact that it has hidden and locked me out of some of the best tech tools for repairing. (I loved XP's recovery console!) I also HATE that annoying are you sure you want to run this popup.
