Today, I am attack only the "discussion with no responses" If all our us will attack the same for one day, we can make this place very less.. At present if you find it there, a lots of discussions still shows "Zero" responses.. Why it is like that.. Why don't we make that as "Zero" responses discussion will become "Zero" May the discussions be stay there under the topic of "discussions with no responses" for to the maximum of 15 minutes.. then it should get some responses.. What is your opinion about this topic..?? Post your view please..

Since joining MYLOT I always encourage mylotters to come to this spot so that persons can feel motivate but there are only a few who visit it. I make it my point of duty to be here whenever I am on mylot. There say that encouragement sweeten labour. So it is up to us the seniors to let the new ones feel welcome. Not only our friends because alot of us join by just browsing the net and came here since then we are here.

It's true but It should be a wake up call for the author of the discussion. It has a zero response maybe because the subject is not that interesting or something else. So the next time you try to start a discussion, consider the idea of what will the community will say about your discussion.

The thing is that not all are interested in all topics. So it may not be a wakeup call for the author, but it is not a disheartening thing. Sometimes at that moment it is no something everybody wants to talk about.

Every discussion starts off with zero responses. I a duscussion is in a popular interest, it will get responses beore too long. If a discussion is written in a clear and understandable way, someone will respond before long. I don't think I'd do it all day, but there are times during every day when I check the "discussions with no responses" section, and respond to a few to get them off of te ground.

I hope you will continue doing these regularly and not just today. This is a good cause and it will encourage others to post because they are not afraid to have a discussion without response. I don't know if it affect your status here at mylot f you have a lot of discusssion without responses but it surely affect you who post the discussion. As much as possible you want you discussion to have at least one response. If you have some discussion without response it seems that you don't have any friend here. Or your discussions is suck that no one is willing to response to it. Or your English is very bad that no one understand your discussion. So if keep you thinking why? and most of the time you get discourage if you are getting zero responses. So this is a good thing, it's a morale booster for those with zero discussions.

Hello chennai_bo2! I think it is a great idea because mylot really needs newcomers. Especially the ones who are motivated to make some contributions here. It is ok if they just can't take all the attention with their first discussions. It is also the same for other people who have been members of mylot for ages. They may also have some discussions with no responses. It is clearly a situation which make people less motivated to create new discussions. Sometimes I had this issue too! Do you know what the fault is? The general fault behind the discussions which are not responded: They are just being serious. If you just ask a question that can be answered by many people it is for sure that you will get a dozen of responses in a few minutes. However, when it comes to more serious events people won't be attracted to it as they are attracted to more casual stuff. In this case, you just need luck. There are many mylotters who are behind serious discussions and making important contributions very often. If they are online while you are making your post, then you will get what you want.

I often look at the discussions with no responses but sometimes it is difficult to find one I can respond to. Many of them are about things I know nothing of or they are questions I can't answer, some are statements which don't give any reason to respond and some I find difficult to understand what it is about. I do respond to as many as I can whenever I look at them. But so many new discussions appear so quickly I can never keep up. Also by the time I have written and posted my response I often find that several other people have done the same!

When I was new at mylot I work on the topics with no reponses because I am thinking I have a better chances of getting the best response. Unfortunately, just like you I end up answering very few. The topics are really hard and most of the time you don't know what is all about. You end up witht a lot of time looking and reading for something you could put into that discussion. It's a lot of time wasted, instead of you spending it topics you know about. I never thought there are some mylotters also checking on those discussions. If you are willing to continue doing it, I weill help maybe with our combine force we can find zero out this part of no response discussion.

I will continue to do it. As you say it takes a little more time to find ones I can respond to but I do always find some and people are grateful when they get that first response, which may be the only one.

I do not know why so many discussions do not have responses! But I do try to check out discussions with no responses, because it is easier to read all of it and be the first to reply!

Usually I see the discussions from my interests or from my friends, but rarely see the NO response discussion, because the interests is out of what I know and I think I can not reply or answer the questions. But if I see a discussion that I can reply I will not hesitate to answer it for the one who start the discussion must be waiting for the replies.

You have a great idea. We should actually try to find discussions with zero responses and see if there are any which might be of interest to us. It is possible that you come across something that is a kewl topic to discuss on and no one has thought about it and has not started any other discussion about it nor have they spoken about it. We could definately try to see all these discussions and at least a few discussion may finally find its calling

I think it is better when discussions get responses from the author. Not sure it should be made mandatory or with punishment if someone does not respond but there needs to be some kind of incentive to get some people engaged.

I agree. But is it plausible or fair to punish them if they dont respond. Maybe what can be done is higher returns to people who respond back to comments on their discussions.

I like that idea because I purposely try to be responsive to people. What I have seen happening is a kind of a social club going on, not sure if that is how you would describe it but I’ve noticed some people act socially with each other on purpose. In other words, “if you respond to me, I respond to you but if you ignore me bye bye” – that kind of thing.
